The Supreme Kai's gaze turned distant, memories of a painful past surfacing.
'That was a very, very long time ago, back when the humans of Earth were just learning to walk upright.'
'At that time, deep in the Universe, there was an evil wizard named Bibidi. One day, the wicked wizard Bibidi happened to create a terrifying life-form—what later became Majin Buu...'
'Majin Buu possessed no emotions at all; it knew only slaughter and Destruction—a monster whose very existence was to spread terror.'
'For millennia afterward, thousands of planets were turned into lifeless husks...'
Gohan already knew most of this, so he simply treated it as a recap.
Nothing much to add—basically Androids 17 and 18 on steroids.
He also knew that Majin Buu had not actually been created by Bibidi; it was an ancient terror that had existed since primordial times.
It just so happened that Bibidi had a method to control it.
The Supreme Kai, however, believed it to be Bibidi's creation.
The Supreme Kai continued, 'At that time, besides myself, there were the West Supreme Kai, North Supreme Kai, South Supreme Kai, and the Grand Supreme Kai who led us all.'
'I was the youngest; whatever they did, I followed behind.'
'All four of them possessed tremendous power—especially the Grand Supreme Kai, who could kill a top-tier fighter like Frieza with a single finger.'
'But later, Majin Buu invaded the Kaioshin Realm. All four of those Seniors were slain by Majin Buu; only I, the youngest, survived because I was too afraid to fight.'
Pain flashed across the Supreme Kai's face, as though he loathed his own cowardice and helplessness back then.
He drew a deep breath, steadying himself before continuing.
'Majin Buu was simply too terrifying. Eventually even Bibidi, its creator, grew afraid of it. Taking advantage of a moment when Buu had to rest, he temporarily sealed it so it could no longer move.'
'Years passed, and the ambitious Bibidi set his sights on conquering Earth, so he took the sealed Majin Buu there.'
'Just as Bibidi was releasing the Seal on Majin Buu, I seized the chance to ambush and kill the evil wizard.'
'At the time I feared that destroying Buu might cause it to awaken, so I dared not do so.'
'Thinking only Bibidi could break the Seal, I hid Buu in a secluded spot on Earth, where it has remained for millions of years...'
With the tale finally told, Gohan sensed the Supreme Kai was on the verge of collapse.
Exhaustion crept through every part of him.
Clearly Majin Buu had become a nightmare in the Supreme Kai's heart—just thinking of it cost him sleep.
Gohan sorted his thoughts and said, 'Supreme Kai, have you considered moving Majin Buu to a different hiding place? Earth today is nothing like it was millions of years ago.'
'The human population is far larger, and they're no longer so oblivious. Leaving Buu there is no longer safe...'
The Supreme Kai replied, 'Your concern is valid, Mr. Gohan, but where else could I place it? I fear any disturbance might break the Seal and awaken Buu.'
Gohan smiled. 'No need to be so afraid. Even if Buu unseals now, I can handle it. I'm just worried that, left unattended on Earth, someone with ulterior motives might steal it.'
'If that happened, you'd bear undeniable responsibility.'
'I can't stay on Earth around the clock keeping watch, can I?'
'Uh...' The Supreme Kai frowned, pondered a moment, then asked, 'Do you have a suggestion, Mr. Gohan?'
Gohan grinned. 'Indeed I do. How about we move Majin Buu to the Kaioshin Realm?'
'What?' The Supreme Kai and Kibito blanched. 'Absolutely not!
Gohan raised a hand, cutting them off. 'Hear me out. Buu's Sealed Egg simply isn't safe on Earth. Leaving aside all the unstable factors—Supreme Kai, haven't you considered that Bibidi might have descendants?'
'If one of them sneaks to Earth and steals Majin Buu, you'll have a huge headache.'
'Don't you agree? My thinking is this: the Holy Land has that Sealing Magic Circle—the very place that once sealed Old Kai. We put Buu there, you can check on it anytime, guaranteeing absolute safety.'
Supreme Kai: ... Kibito: ... Gohan's logic was sound.
But who could sleep easy with a landmine under the kang? Let alone Majin Buu?
The Supreme Kai was instantly torn.
The main reason was that Buu had once invaded the Kaioshin Realm and slaughtered four Supreme Kais here, leaving Ashin with agonizing memories.
While the Supreme Kai still hesitated,
Old Kai, who had been silent, spoke up. 'Enough. Do as Gohan says.'

The three of them were already on Earth.
Incredible, Gohan thought, eyes blazing; he wanted even more to learn Kibito's Instant Transmission...
They stood on an icy plain where biting wind merged Earth and sky into endless white.
'This is the deep Ice Field of Cloud Marsh Highland?' Gohan asked after a moment, recognizing the place.
'Exactly,' the Supreme Kai confirmed.
'Where's Buu's sealed ball?' Gohan wondered aloud.
The Supreme Kai pointed at the ground. 'Right beneath us.'
Gohan crouched, brushed away the ice, and squinted through more than ten meters of solid frost to spot a walnut-like object.
That had to be Majin Buu's sealed ball.
Gohan chuckled. 'Poor thing's been lying here all these years, starving and freezing.'
'This used to be a desert; after several crustal shifts it became what you see now,' the Supreme Kai explained.
'OK—stand back, please. I'll fish it out.' Gohan already had a bright blue Energy Ball forming in his hand as he pressed it to the ice.
'Ah—don't—!' The Supreme Kai and Kibito cried out in shock, but it was too late.
Such a violent way to retrieve the sealed ball had never crossed their minds.
BOOM!!!
The ice erupted, shards flying in every direction with a whistle that made the two Kais jump.
At the same time, the giant 'walnut' flew into the air, crashed onto the ice, and rolled to a stop at their feet.
Hiss—
The Supreme Kai froze stiff.
Damn, it's cold.
