"Kaelvryn?" Valen said carefully, her voice calm though her body had already tensed, her instincts sharpening as she stepped closer to the bed.
It had been barely few hours since Lucas left the place and Kaelvryn decided to wake up, what a day for her.
The way Kaelvryn looked at her felt different, almost like he couldn't recognize her.
"It is alright," she continued, her tone steady though her mind was already racing, "it's because you have been unconscious for
some time, but you are safe now."
Kaelvryn did not respond, he simply stared at her whiles breathing uneven, he had that blank and stoic expression when they first met.
Then his hand moved really fast, grabbing her wrist before she could react fully, his grip tight, unyielding as he pulled her slightly forward with a force that spoke of strength not diminished by his condition.
