Koharu was ready to leave France. Her luggage had already been loaded into the car, and her flight back to Korea was only a few hours away.
Just as she was about to leave the hotel, her phone vibrated.
A message appeared on the screen.
> You're leaving the country without meeting your old friend, Miss CEO?
Koharu smiled faintly.
Then another message followed.
> Or should I call you... Haru?
She couldn't help but laugh softly.
Haru.
A nickname only one person had ever used.
Her high school friend.
Koharu quickly replied.
> Send me your location.
Within seconds, a location popped up.
It was a luxury penthouse in the heart of Paris.
Without wasting any more time, Koharu got into her car and drove there.
---
About thirty minutes later, she arrived outside the building.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, the entrance doors opened.
A young woman came running toward her.
"Haru!"
Before Koharu could even react, the woman threw her arms around her in a tight hug.
Koharu smiled warmly and hugged her back just as gently.
"Daisy..."
It had been so long.
Almost five years had passed since they graduated from university and went their separate ways. Work, responsibilities, and living in different countries had made it difficult to stay in touch, but seeing each other again felt as if no time had passed at all.
"You've gotten taller," Daisy joked, looking up at Koharu.
Koharu raised an eyebrow.
"I don't think people grow after university."
"I know," Daisy laughed. "I'm just trying to make myself feel shorter."
Koharu chuckled.
Daisy was wearing a soft floral skirt with a cream-colored blouse, giving her a cheerful and elegant appearance. Compared to Koharu's tall frame, Daisy had a much smaller figure, making their height difference even more noticeable.
"You still dress like spring," Koharu teased.
"And you still dress like a CEO twenty-four hours a day," Daisy shot back with a grin.
The two of them laughed together.
"Come on," Daisy said, holding Koharu's hand. "Let's go inside. I made coffee, and I have five years' worth of gossip waiting for you."
Koharu let herself be pulled inside.
The penthouse was bright and beautifully decorated, filled with plants, paintings, and fresh flowers that reflected Daisy's cheerful personality.
"This place suits you," Koharu said as she looked around.
Daisy smiled proudly.
"I decorated every corner myself."
"I can tell."
The two old friends settled onto the sofa, coffee cups in their hands, both smiling.
After five long years...
They finally had time to catch up.
