"Ugh!"
Sang Luo woke to a splitting headache, feeling as if she'd been running through dreams all night.
She instinctively reached for the phone beside her pillow. The screen automatically unlocked with facial recognition; it was past twelve o'clock.
The curtains were drawn, leaving the room quite dim. The lights were off.
Her parents' voices drifted in from the living room.
"...Lunch is ready. When your sister wakes up, remember to tell her to eat. Your mom and I have to head out; we're going back to our hometown for a bit."
"Got it!" her younger brother, Sang Nan, readily agreed.
Sang Luo continued to gaze blankly at the ceiling, her long black hair splayed across the bed, her expression nearly frozen. 'What's going on? Wasn't I just at the Sea Palace for Blue Eucalyptus's coming-of-age ceremony?'
