A servant asked, "Your Majesty, the Ancient Peach Tree is perfectly healthy. Why do you want to cut it down?"
"It's long outlived its purpose, and it's an eyesore."
The servant followed his gaze out the window. It was true—while the peach tree was beautiful, it always partially blocked the view of the stone statue His Majesty had carved with his own hands.
'But His Majesty had never mentioned this before. Why the sudden decision to cut it down?'
In the end, the Ancient Peach Tree was felled.
The area outside the hall suddenly seemed half-empty, a sight the servants found unsettling. The spot remained bare for a while, until His Majesty had the empty plot expanded, enclosed with a wooden fence to form a garden, and filled with blue iris flowers.
The dense clusters of blossoms, a sea of blue like a lush carpet, perfectly framed the beautiful statue in the center. It looked even more striking than before.
