A rustling came from the snow-covered bushes, and Gu Yin and Ling Hong appeared before her, each holding a large armful of taro.
"Are you sure this can be eaten?" Gu Yin asked, confused. "This stuff is making my skin a little itchy. You shouldn't touch it."
He grasped her outstretched hand.
"That's normal. The sap of raw taro contains something that can make your skin itch." An Jin pulled free from his grasp, then reached out and stroked his slightly reddened arm, saying with concern, "The sap can easily cause an allergic reaction. Once we get back, wash it clean, and then warming it over the fire for a bit should take care of it."
'Warm it over the fire?'
Gu Yin frowned. He was clearly very resistant to the idea of roasting himself over a fire.
The three had just returned to the city when they encountered patrolling Beastmen. They rushed over to An Jin. "Lord City Lord, you went out? It's still snowing, so it might not be safe outside..."
