An Jin rubbed her brow. Her head was starting to ache.
Her original plan for the Snake Beast had been to heartlessly abandon him. After all, he was a stranger she'd never even met. She wouldn't have felt anything beyond a twinge of guilt.
But his rescue had been too timely. It was obvious he'd been worried and had secretly followed her.
A life debt complicated things. At the very least, she could no longer treat him as a complete stranger.
"Come here. Let me see your wounds." An Jin was a little exasperated, but that didn't cloud her judgment.
In that sea of fire, she'd vaguely seen the Snake Beast's entire body engulfed in flames. Though he looked fine on the surface now, there was no telling how badly he was actually hurt.
The black-and-red python stirred but didn't move forward.
His red head arched slightly, and he stared intently at the approaching An Jin, hesitant to move.
"HISS~"
'After a long moment, he actually pulled his head back?!'
