Just before the end of the session, Kaiser's hand rose one last time.
"Professor, that pendant you're wearing, does it serve as an auxiliary mana reservoir?"
Seraphina brushed the bluish gem with an almost unconscious gesture.
"No, and its use is not related to the course."
"It is of great elegance," Kaiser commented, letting his gaze linger on it. "Its shade seems to reflect exactly that of your eyes."
A brief but heavy silence settled in the room. Seraphina stared at him, her marble face betraying no emotion.
"Even though I can see your mediocrity in terms of mana talent… Your attention," she finally said in a low but cutting voice, "would be better invested in the principles of channeling than in clothing accessories. Please focus on the course."
'Oh… She's the virulent type…' Kaiser noted through each of her responses, especially because he was devoid of mana.
