Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Sparks in the Hallway

The morning air felt heavier than usual as Aria stepped onto campus. Today wasn't just another school day—it was presentation day for Class A-3, and everyone was expected to impress the teachers and peers alike.

Aria adjusted her bag and straightened her posture. No matter what happened, she was determined to stand out for the right reasons.

The rival girl spotted her immediately, smirking. "Ready to fail, Queen Aria?"

Aria smiled faintly. "I don't plan on it."

The rival narrowed her eyes, clearly annoyed that her attempts to intimidate Aria had failed so far. She whispered to her friends, plotting some sort of disruption.

Lucien appeared quietly at Aria's side. "Ignore her," he said, his voice low but firm.

Aria glanced at him, meeting his intense gaze. "I'm fine," she said softly.

His hand brushed hers for a brief second as he passed by. The touch was fleeting, but it sent a jolt of warmth through her.

He notices everything, she thought, a small smile tugging at her lips.

The presentation began, and students took turns showcasing their projects. When it was Aria's turn, she walked confidently to the front, her purple-streaked hair catching the sunlight.

Her voice was clear, her explanations sharp. Every movement was precise, a mixture of grace and intelligence that captivated the class.

Even the rival girl's smug expression faltered as whispers of admiration spread.

After the presentation, Aria returned to her seat, heart racing—but proud. Lucien leaned over quietly.

"You did well," he said. "Better than I expected."

"Better than you expected?" she teased lightly.

He smirked. "I know how capable you are. I just… enjoy watching you prove it."

Aria's cheeks warmed. The subtle compliment, combined with the intensity in his eyes, left her momentarily speechless.

Later, in the courtyard, the rival girl made her move. She tripped Aria intentionally, causing books and papers to scatter.

Aria froze for a second, remembering her promise to her mother. But before she could respond, Lucien appeared like a shadow, helping her to her feet and glaring at the rival girl.

"She's had enough of your games," he said coldly.

The girl glared but didn't push further. Lucien's presence alone was enough to stop her.

Aria glanced at him, grateful but also a little embarrassed. "Thank you," she murmured.

"Don't thank me yet," he replied softly, his fingers brushing hers again—this time lingering just a heartbeat longer.

Every time he does that… Aria thought, I can't help but notice.

That evening, back at the rehearsal studio, her idol group noticed her quiet mood.

"Daydreaming about school?" one boy teased.

Aria laughed softly. "Maybe a little."

"Lucien, right?" another guessed.

Her eyes widened slightly. "Maybe…" she admitted, feeling a small thrill.

Her friends chuckled, teasing her, but she didn't mind. Between school drama, her group's pampering, and Lucien's attention, her life felt more alive than ever.
