Chapter 6 - Chapter 06

"Our tears are the only storm capable of cleansing our hearts."

— Victor Hugo

Love is an oasis of salvation for a soul lost in the desert of life, and a prisoner of a poisoned fate filled with events that shatter the being and shackle the soul with misery and deprivation. It is what quenches the thirst of suffering and the drought of days amid the dullness of time.

Sean:

"Good morning. Sorry I'm late… how are you today? You look incredibly beautiful."

Dina:

"Good morning. I'm fine. What about you? And you arrived right on time—no need to apologize."

The two talked while an intense tension filled the air, accompanied by an unusual silence. Sean decided to take the first step, though he had no idea what to say.

Sean:

"Dina… I… uh… I… I love you. Period."

He was nervous, not knowing what else to say. He looked at the girl standing before him, shocked by what he had just said, cursing himself for the thousandth time for such a foolish confession. Shouldn't he have calmed down and spoken with more composure and confidence?

"My dignity is gone, my manhood is gone… oh, what a disaster, you fool."

He snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of her voice.

Dina:

"Uh… what… um… what is this? Does a man really confess his love in such a stupid way?"

She spoke unconsciously, unable to believe the way he had expressed his feelings. She let out a soft sigh, then took a deep breath, while he watched her nervously, fearing she might explode at him in mockery and curses. Finally, she said:

"Alright… one, two, three… I… uh… I… I love you too, you idiot."

She wasn't doing much better herself, mocking her own clumsy confession. Sean stared at her in shock, then changed his tone to teasing.

Sean:

"And does a girl confess her love like that? How can you call me stupid when you're even worse than me?"

They looked at each other, then—

Sean & Dina:

"Hahahahaha!"

They burst into laughter and hugged each other, a sign of mutual acceptance.

Every moment in this existence has value, and every heart carries a precious love that knows no boundaries—sincere feelings for hearts exhausted by pain, disappointments, and hidden secrets that grow silently through hardship.

Days passed, each more beautiful than the last, simply because they were together. While those lovers lived their special moments of love, there was an inner struggle about how to build a future together—one filled with peace, love, respect, and a warm family atmosphere that never fades.

Elsewhere, another love story was quietly sprouting in the meadow of life, unnoticed by others, accompanied by reproaches from friends who felt forgotten after their loved ones found romance.

Serene:

"We used to walk together all the time, and now they're completely absorbed in each other while we're like ghosts to them. They don't even notice us. If I had known they'd neglect me like this, I would never have encouraged them to confess that day."

She said it with annoyance, boredom, and slight anger.

John:

"You're right. Damn it! Hey, you two, stop for a second and pay attention to us! Don't you realize you're overdoing it? Have mercy—there are other people here!"

Linda:

"Oh, John, when did you two get here? Sorry, I didn't notice you."

She said it with a slightly gloomy face.

John:

"Oh really? So now we're invisible to you?"

Serene (pretending to cry sadly):

"So we're not important anymore? Ever since you started dating, you completely forgot about us."

Dina:

"No, no, no—please don't cry! I don't want to see your tears. I'm really sorry. We didn't mean to ignore you. We're just trying to plan our future. I'm truly sorry."

Sean:

"You two ruined the moment for us. Ugh! Jane, don't you think we need to get rid of this situation? And you—stop crying, you'll make my girl cry too. I don't want to see her tears."

Jane:

"I think you're right. We need to find a solution. Every time we think we're alone, we find them in front of us."

John:

"So now we're annoying to you? Fine—it's my fault for advising you and missing you and wanting to spend time with you."

He said it with anger mixed with fake sadness. He grabbed Serene's arm and said angrily:

John:

"Serene, don't cry. They don't want us. Let's go spend time together. We don't need them—they've moved on. Come on."

Serene:

"Yes… you're right. Let's go."

She said it sadly, lowering her head.

Do you think they fought and ruined their relationships because of this? Of course not. After Jane and Sean started dating Linda and Dina, they noticed John's glances toward Serene from time to time. Whenever someone turned around, he pretended to read so as not to expose himself—but it was useless. The truth was clear, unchanged since the day they met.

They realized that John liked Serene—no, he was in love with her—but he couldn't find the courage to confess. They told Linda and Dina, and Dina replied with a gentle smile:

Dina:

"Actually, I think Serene likes him too, but she's stubbornly hiding the truth."

Linda:

"Then let's bring them together so they won't feel lonely when we're on dates. What do you think?"

Jane:

"Alright, how do we do that?"

Sean:

"I know the perfect way. Let's ignore them, go on romantic dates, and act all lovey-dovey in front of them without paying attention. They'll definitely get annoyed and upset. Serene will surely be sad, and if he truly loves her, he won't be able to stand seeing her cry. He'll take her away and leave us."

Jane:

"Wow, my friend, that's a brilliant idea. Someone who truly loves can't bear the tears of the one they love."

The friends executed the plan perfectly—and here are the results.

Jane:

"The first part of the plan succeeded. Congratulations. Let's move to the next step."

Linda:

"What is it? What do we do now?"

Dina:

"I have an idea—I hope it works. Listen, we'll go to them in the morning when they're heading to class. Sean will stand in front of them and talk to them, and then it'll be my turn."

She finished with a sly smile, leaving everyone wondering what she was planning.

Sean:

"Go on—what will you do? Tell me."

Dina:

"Wait and you'll see. Hahahaha—I hope I succeed."

Linda:

"Since when did our bundle of cuteness start thinking so deviously?"

Sean (looking at Linda with slight anger):

"What did you say? Our bundle of cuteness and devious? No one has the right to say that about her except me!"

Linda (nervously):

"I was just joking… I didn't mean it. I'm sorry if I upset you, Dina."

She said it with sadness.

Jane:

"Hey! Look what you did—you made my angel sad. Are you satisfied now? You're so grumpy."

Sean:

"Ah—haha! I didn't mean it. I was just joking. I'm really sorry. I know you were kidding."

Dina:

"Come on, Linda, don't be sad. Sorry he was being insensitive. Smile, please."

Linda:

"Hahaha! So I succeeded in acting for the next part of the plan. What do you think?"

Jane:

"What? You were pretending to be sad? Wow—you're dangerous. I should be careful around you, girl."

Sean:

"Really? You scared me—I thought I truly hurt you. You're talented at acting!"

Will the friends succeed in their plan?

Will John confess his love to Serene—and will she do the same?

And will this happiness last, these pure relationships remain, or will friendship break after what is yet to come?
