"Vegeta, where does all this confidence come from?" Captain Ginyu sneered. "Surely you know the strength of your current body better than anyone."
He simply couldn't understand why Vegeta was acting so confident.
After all, they had already switched bodies. Ginyu's former body only had a power level of 120,000. There was no way it could defeat the body Ginyu was using now.
Yet Vegeta wore a confident smile.
"Your old body really is a piece of trash," he said coldly. "It can't compare to my real body. But in the end... you'll still lose to a Saiyan."
Hearing Vegeta insult his former body, Ginyu wasn't offended in the slightest.
That body hadn't originally belonged to him anyway.
No matter what, he had now obtained an even stronger body.
"So..." Ginyu shifted his gaze to Goku. "He's your backup?"
His eyes carefully sized Goku up.
"So this is the Saiyan from Earth."
"Hahaha!"
"I never imagined you'd place all your hopes on him!"
Captain Ginyu burst into laughter.
Jeice laughed along with him.
His scouter had already measured Goku's power level.
"Hahaha! Vegeta, have you lost your mind?"
"You actually brought a helper with a power level of only five thousand?"
"Lord Frieza ordered us to kill those brats anyway. Since you've delivered yourselves to us, it'll save us the trouble of hunting you down!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Jeice hurled an energy blast at Vegeta.
Vegeta casually swatted it aside before instantly charging toward Jeice.
"W-What?!"
Seeing Vegeta rushing straight at him, Jeice panicked.
The body Vegeta was using had once belonged to Captain Ginyu and still possessed a power level of 120,000.
Jeice was no match for it.
"Captain! Save me!"
With a frightened shout, he immediately hid behind Ginyu.
Captain Ginyu's face darkened.
Jeice was his only remaining teammate.
If Jeice died as well, he'd become a one-man special force.
How was he supposed to strike his signature team poses by himself?
Just as Ginyu was about to intervene—
Goku suddenly appeared right in front of him.
"Hey."
"Your opponent is me."
At the same time, Goku threw a heavy punch.
"Hmph."
"A weakling with a power level of only five thousand dares challenge me?"
Ginyu didn't even bother taking Goku seriously.
He casually raised a hand to block.
Boom!
The instant the punch landed—
Captain Ginyu was blasted backward.
"W-What?!"
"How is this possible?!"
Feeling the sharp pain coursing through his body, Ginyu stared in disbelief.
He quickly glanced back at his scouter.
5,000.
The number hadn't changed at all.
"Is... my scouter broken?"
No longer daring to underestimate his opponent, Ginyu clenched his fists and fixed Goku with a wary stare.
Meanwhile, seeing that Captain Ginyu had been tied down, Jeice immediately exploded with all his speed and fled in panic.
Vegeta gave chase without hesitation.
Thanks to his superior speed, he quickly caught up.
Smack!
Realizing escape was impossible, Jeice suddenly spun around and lashed out with a kick.
Using both the momentum of his own attack and Vegeta's forward charge, the kick carried tremendous force.
Vegeta calmly raised an arm and blocked it.
At the same instant—
His other fist shot forward.
"Jeice!"
"Die!"
Instinctively, Jeice kept staring at his scouter.
Ever since the battle began, it had consistently shown Vegeta's power level at only 40,000.
He still hasn't adapted to the Captain's body.
That's why he can't use its full power!
The thought instantly restored Jeice's confidence.
Although he couldn't match Captain Ginyu, his own power level was close to 50,000.
Against someone displaying only 40,000, he still had a chance to win.
But the moment he blocked Vegeta's punch—
A terrifying force surged through his arm.
It felt as though the bones were about to shatter.
"What?!"
"Vegeta!"
"Your power is far beyond forty thousand!"
"The scouter didn't detect it at all!"
"What trick are you using?!"
Vegeta smirked triumphantly.
Just as I thought.
These idiots only know how to judge strength by looking at numbers.
"Hmph."
"You fools who rely on scouters!"
"Forget the numbers."
"Real battles are decided by strength."
"Understand?"
"You're no match for me."
"And that Ginyu won't be a match for Kakarot either."
"Looking at the situation now..."
"You're already dead."
Seeing the disbelief written all over Jeice's face, Vegeta sneered.
"I don't have time to play with you anymore."
"Goodbye."
As he spoke, Vegeta drove his fist straight forward.
The powerful punch shattered Jeice's battle armor and pierced directly through his chest.
"Ugh... AAAAGH!"
Jeice spat out a mouthful of blood.
"I'll show you some mercy..."
"...and send you on your way."
A cruel smile spread across Vegeta's face.
His fist tightened.
An enormous ki sphere instantly condensed in his palm.
BOOM!
Another brilliant explosion blossomed across the sky, crimson flames scattering in every direction like fireworks.
"Hmph."
"So this is the mighty Ginyu Force?"
"Nothing special."
After finishing Jeice off, Vegeta immediately flew toward Goku's battle.
Maybe... Ginyu has taken an interest in Kakarot's body.
The thought made Vegeta's eyes light up.
He quickly scanned the battlefield.
As long as I get in front of Kakarot before Ginyu uses Body Change...
I can switch back into my own body!
Not far away, Captain Ginyu steadied himself after being knocked back by Goku's punch.
A sinister grin slowly spread across his face.
"You almost fooled me."
"Oh?"
Goku raised an eyebrow.
"I nearly forgot..."
"...to use the full power of this body!"
With that, Ginyu released all of his ki.
"This body possesses a power level of 180,000!"
"Other than Lord Frieza himself..."
"...no one in the universe is my match!"
Seeing the number displayed on his scouter, Ginyu's confidence immediately returned.
"Is that so?"
Goku smiled with genuine interest.
"Then let's have a proper fight."
As he spoke, Goku made up his mind.
From this point onward, he would only use the x2 Kaio-ken, suppressing his strength to roughly match Ginyu's so they could enjoy a real contest of skill.
Looking down at Goku from above, Ginyu casually tossed an energy blast at him.
Goku waved it aside.
But in the very next instant—
Ginyu had already appeared directly in front of him.
Goku smoothly caught Ginyu's punch before instantly counterattacking.
To his surprise—
Ginyu blocked that punch as well.
Punch after punch.
Kick after kick.
The two exchanged blows evenly in midair.
"Hmph."
"So you're not nearly as impressive as you pretended to be!"
Ginyu declared smugly.
But Goku only looked happier.
"Haha!"
"You're really skilled!"
"Your techniques are incredible!"
Goku knew that while using Kaio-ken x2, the strength of his ki was roughly equal to that of Ginyu in Vegeta's body.
That meant the outcome now depended almost entirely on fighting skill.
No matter what techniques Goku used, Ginyu managed to respond with remarkable precision.
The longer they fought—
The more excited Goku became.
Having already killed Jeice, Vegeta quickly arrived beside the battlefield.
The moment he saw Goku actually enjoying himself, his face darkened with anger.
"Damn it, Kakarot!"
"You're actually treating this like a game!"
"If Frieza comes back, we're finished!"
With that in mind, Vegeta prepared to jump in and help Goku finish the fight.
But then he hesitated.
The opponent was still using his body.
No matter how angry he was...
It was still difficult to attack his own body without restraint.
Seeing Vegeta about to interfere, Goku immediately grew anxious.
"Hey, Vegeta!"
"This is a fight between him and me!"
"Don't interfere!"
Vegeta gritted his teeth so hard they nearly cracked.
Smoke practically seemed ready to pour from his ears.
"You idiot, Kakarot!"
"This isn't the time to play around!"
"We have to get the Dragon Balls!"
"Stop fooling around and finish him!"
Hearing that, Goku finally realized the seriousness of the situation.
He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Hehe..."
"Sorry."
"I got carried away."
Captain Ginyu froze on the spot.
He had been fighting with everything he had.
He was using the full 180,000 power of Vegeta's body.
And yet...
To Goku...
This had merely been playing around?
Unable to endure the humiliation any longer, Ginyu roared,
"Quit acting tough!"
"You're nothing but a weakling with a power level of five thousand!"
"You actually think you can defeat me?"
"I haven't even used my full strength yet!"
