Ficool

Chapter 5 - He finally spoke up

Then came the school social night. Everyone dressed up. Music, lights, laughter. Peter walked up to me, held out his hand, and said, "Dance with me?"

And in that moment, I knew whatever we had, it was more than just friendship

I took his hand. My heart was racing, but I tried to keep calm. We walked to the center of the hall where other students were dancing, but it felt like we were the only two people there. The music was soft, slow, and everything around me faded.

Peter looked at me and said, "I've been thinking a lot. About us."

I looked up at him, surprised. "Us?"

"Yes. You're not like anyone else. You understand me. You listen. You don't try to change me or chase attention. You're just... you."

I didn't know what to say. My throat tightened a bit. He continued, "I think I've been pretending for a long time. With Prisca. With everyone else. But with you, I feel like myself."

I smiled shyly. "I've always just wanted you to be happy."

"And I am," he whispered. "When I'm with you."

Right then, it was like something shifted between us. We weren't just best friends anymore. There was something deeper, something real. And in that moment, I knew everything was about to change.

After that night, things weren't perfect. People talked, rumors spread faster. But we didn't care anymore. For the first time, Peter and I were honest with ourselves, and with each other.

And that's how my story changed from being the quiet new girl, to being the girl who found unexpected love through friendship.
