Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The S-Rank Wyvern Nest

Everybody was frozen due to the fear of The Wyvern King. Even though it was only Level 50, it was an SS-Class monster that always controlled its horde from behind. Right now, around 40 Wyverns completely surrounded the king. The Wyvern King isn't individually strong like other SS-Class threats like the Dragon Emperor or the mythical Fenrir, but it is just as deadly when leading a pack. Up to now, only five SS-Class dungeons had ever been discovered in the world, and zero SSS-Class—since the appearance of an SSS-Class gate indicated the worlds destruction.

Since it was a Wyvern King, we actually had a chance. Han Ji-Hoo ordered the Solaris members to stay in formation and told the mercenaries to group up close. We had a total of 15 members: the 5 Solaris elites and 10 mercenaries. Six of the mercenaries were C-Rank, including me, and four were B-Rank.

Suddenly, the Wyvern King flapped its massive wings, kicking up a violent swirl of wind and dust. The remaining 40 Wyverns charged straight at us. Watching them rush forward made my heart race uncontrollably. That intense burning sensation flared up in my chest again, hot and heavy. I couldn't tell if it was just my title blocking out the fear, or if it was the raw thrill of the fight. In front of me was an entire army of monsters, and we were just a mere 15 people whose strength couldn't compare. I was sweating a lot altogether. With my heart racing, I could feel my hair drenched in sweat, my palms getting moist, and I could hear my heart beating faster by the moment.

Soon, Han Ji-Hoo also charged at the monsters as he used his skill, [Aura Blade]. His blade was instantly covered in a violent, mystic blue aura that surrounded his entire body this time, not like before where it only surrounded his weapon. This meant that the situation had escalated more than before. Behind him, Yoon Ha-Neul cast [Aureole Blessing], buffing all of our party members' stats by 15%.

Soon, Han Ji-Hoo, completely covered by the blue aura, started swaying and slaying the Wyverns, shouting [Aura Slash] and launching a sharp, blue horizontal wave of energy toward them. The shockwave of his slash cut through the air, sending a violent gust of wind past us. As he rushed toward them, a few Wyverns passed through him and came straight at us.

Park Sang-Min used his wide shield to crash it into the ground, activating [Earth Tremor]. The impact created a heavy, circular shockwave that rippled through the stone floor, launching at the Wyverns and disorienting them. Even though it looked strong, it couldn't defeat the monsters on its own.

Soon, Choi Jin-Woo rushed toward Park Sang-Min, using his high agility to flank toward the monsters and shred their wings. Yoon Ha-Neul then used her skill, [Thunder Tempest]. A series of jagged yellow thunderbolts rained down from the sky toward the group of Wyverns, striking multiple beasts at once with loud, cracking explosions. Since it was a huge AOE skill, most of the Wyverns' wings were shredded and their limbs were torn.

The mercenaries also used small, basic-level skills like [Fireball] and [Gale Force] to assist them from the back. Every time someone was injured, Lee Seol-Ah was there to heal us. As she used her skill, [Rejuvenating Light], a soft green color light surrounded the injured bodies, slowly closing up the open wounds and recovering their bodies from the damage. Due to Park Sang-Min defending the rear and Choi Jin-Woo attacking the Wyverns with Yoon Ha-Neul's assistance as extra firepower, we were just barely surviving the onslaught.

Soon, the Wyvern King rose into the air and unleashed its [Draconic Roar]. In an instant, a heavy pressure slammed down onto the room, and all of us except Han Ji-Hoo and Park Sang-Min bled from our ears violently. Blood spilled from my C-Rank mercenary allies except me. Due to severe blood loss and the sheer shock of the sound, 6 of my allies died on the spot.

Soon, the atmosphere was filled with the heavy stench of human blood and a dense sense of terror, agonizing all of us and breaking our formation completely. Maybe it was due to my titles, but I didn't feel sadness even after seeing the dead bodies of my teammates right in front of me. Instead, my body felt more hot than before. I couldn't even tell if it was rage due to the lack of feeling from my title's effect.

Now, only 9 of us were left. There were still 20 Wyverns standing. Han Ji-Hoo had soloed 15, and our team had barely managed to take down 5. I decided it was time to stop watching from the sidelines.

I gripped my weapon and activated [Aura Coat]. A dark-red aura instantly cloaked my blade. Because it was the deteriorated version, the volatile energy bled outward, partially wrapping around my own body as well. Feeling the raw surge of power vibrating through my muscles, I locked my eyes on the targets ahead and rushed into the swarm, ready to kill.
