Chapter 7 - Examination II: Game II; Continued

I made my way into my tent. Feeling a buzz in my pocket, I grabbed my phone and checked the messages.

"Well, that went really well." Sven texted.

"Totally." I agreed. "The Judge will probably be eliminated tonight."

"Yeah that's huge." Lena texted.

"Hey Emily, can you use your ability on Nathan? I want to get him eliminated, so make his role the Arsonist."

"I guess that works." Emily replied.

"Also, Lena, you should change your role. Everyone else's roles are vital, so we need something that can help get more kills." I added.

"That's true, but who should I become?" She replied.

"In my opinion? The Reanimator. That way you can use Felix's ability and get a guaranteed kill."

"Wait how?" Sven interrupted.

"The Reanimator gets to use a dead players attack once per game, meaning we can get an unstoppable attack. Right now."

It was all coming together. Finally.

"I guess I should attack Nathan. Since Felix likely eliminate Dylan. That way they can think the Arsonist is dead."

"That works perfectly." I agreed. "One more thing. Lena, you should claim to be an Enforcer. The role has the ability to kill as a town, so that will be necessary for tonight." I continued.

"Sven, send your report to me." I asked.

"Why?" He replied quizzically, like he didn't know what to make of this sudden request.

I checked the timer. 30 seconds.

"No time." I responded.

I knew I needed to douse someone tonight, so I decided I would get Iris. She was the Custodian, and I don't think she trusts any of my teammates. She might protect Nathan, but even if she does it won't matter.

A text popped up on my screen. "You have doused Iris. She visited Dylan."

Another one showed up. "Charles's role is the Enforcer."

I stepped out of the tent, scoping out who didn't exit. Both Nathan and Dylan didn't leave.

The Observer started talking. "Nathan has been eliminated. His role was the Arsonist. Dylan has also been eliminated. His role was the Judge."

"No way!" Michael exclaimed. "Nathan was the Arsonist??"

"I guess so." I replied. "Guess my suspicions were correct."

"You guys can thank me for talking out the Arsonist" Lena said, following the advice she was given. "I knew he was evil."

"Wait what??" Charles interrupted. "I'm the Enforcer! There cant be two!"

"Really?" I asked sarcastically. "Do you really think I'd believe that? If so, then how did the Arsonist die? Did you kill them?

"What? No I didn't!" He replied.

"Oh really. So you want me to believe that the Arsonist was killed by his own team? Is that what you want me to believe? Nonsense. She must be the Enforcer. Only one Evil Killer can be present at a time – and Nathans dead."

"Wh-What???" Charles sputtered. "Theres no way!"

"Oh really. Well I have even more evidence. The reporter sent me a letter today. Do you know what it said? I'll tell you. Lena is the Enforcer."

"That's a lie!!" Charles screamed. "Your lying!! Town!! Don't believe him!"

"I can confirm him" Sven said. "I sent a letter to him. It's true."

Alice interrupted. "What about my ability! Should I reveal his role??"

"No, you shouldn't. He's already confirmed to be evil." I argued.

Alice hesitated, then lowered her phone. "I-I guess so" she replied.

"I found out that Iris and Charles are enemies. I have so much evidence it's absurd."

"Iris is the only person who claimed Custodian — meaning she's confirmed. The fact you're even questioning this is insane."

"Well, there's still one possibility." Sven interrupted. "There could be a Magician or Faker."

"Your right. But that is such a longshot. I say we vote them out, and if they are good, we can confirm a magician and find who is suspicious, or they are evil and everything is fine and dandy." I kept on pressuring. "In fact, I'm so confident that I'd bet all the money I have on it. Unfortunately, I don't have any."

Sven cast his vote. I did the same. Lena followed. Multiple town members did the same until the majority voted him out.

"Look you've got to believe me!" Charles wailed.

"If you were actually a town member, then you would realize your elimination will benefit everyone."

I casted my votes.

8 guilty vote's, the rest abstains. Not a single innocent vote.

Lena didn't vote. I noticed that instantly.

An observer begun speaking. "Charles has been eliminated. Their role was the Enforcer."

Multiple eyes landed on Lena.

"I guess I was lucky I didn't have any money to spend" I commented jokingly.

Before they could complain, however, the alarm sounded. I returned to my tent.

"Well, I think we have won. Right?" I texted the group chat.

"Really? Who do you have doused?" Sven replied.

"Michael, Alice, and Iris. That gives us an even number of players, and Lena has an extra vote, right?" I explained.

"Yeah I do." Lena responded. "How did you know?"

"Intuition I guess?" I said.

"Im glad we won though. Being evil has been pretty easy though." Emily texted back,

"Yeah your right. But I think the town is starting to catch on. This game is pretty equal, it just depends on how you play your cards." I replied.

"Well, good luck in the next game everyone" Lena texted. "I hope we can all pass this exam."

"Yeah, I hope so as well." I said, sharing the sentiment.

I opened my ability page and clicked ignite.

I spent the remaining minute of the night thinking about how I could win as town. I didn't have a fool proof plan yet, but I felt a lot more confident that the town could win. That could be either a good or bad thing depending on how the dice role though.

The alarm played, pulling myself from my thoughts and back into reality.

Looking around, I noticed that Michael, Iris, and Alice all didn't leave. We had won the game.

I instantly voted up Jonas, who despite his aggressiveness last game, had stayed rather quiet.

Sven, Lena, and Emily did the same.

"I guess there's not much I could do, huh." He commented.

"I guess not. I'm curious what role you are." I replied.

"I'm also a Custodian." Jonas gloomily replied. I made the bad decision of protecting your multiple nights though."

"Dang. Well, good game."

I cast my vote, and Jonas was eliminated with a vote of 5 to 3.

The observer began to speak. "Jonas has been eliminated. His role was the Custodian." The observer continued. "An Evil majority has been reached. Sven, Felix, Emily, Lena, and Lukas have each received one victory."

My name, huh. It'd been such a long time since I'd heard somebody call me by my name. It felt odd to hear.
