Chapter 2 - Diagon Alley

Snape had always liked murder. It was in his veins. Fighting was the way he took his mind off things, and murder was just a continuation of that. Severus probably took it from his mother. His real mother, not the video game mother. That woman couldn't kill a man if there was a gun against her head. She was pathetic that way.

Anyway, Snape liked murder. And he also liked video games, and harry potter. So mixing all those three together ? Oh, Severus was in heaven. Plus, he had won the rewards to the usual 'reach level ten' quest he had done in the actual video game as well as another quest he had never gotten before.

[ You have achieved Overachiever ]

[ Skill Shop has been unlocked ]

[ You have achieved Genius I : Level Up ]

[ + Learn ( lvl 1 ) ]

Nice. The second quest even gave him his first skill ! And he had unlocked the Skill Shop before he even started the sixth year. That had always been impossible when the Level restriction was still in place. He sighed contentedly. He wanted to kill and level up some more.

But, alas, he had other things to do. Like go to school and buy his furnitures ! Snape had enough money to buy himself all the good stuff now.

" I'm leaving ! " Severus said as he left the house.

He was technically talking to his parents, but he didn't think either of them heard or cared. Snape had taken the liberty of stealing a car, not one from his neighborhood though.

Nobody suspected him of having killed anything. Although that wasn't saying much when nobody even knew corpses were just laying around. Everyone was so focused on their own problems they couldn't even see that half their neighbors had disappeared. Welp, Severus wasn't to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Severus soon arrived to London. He had lived most of his previous life there. It was so strange seeing how it was in… whatever decade Snape had lived. Some buildings looked so much newer and better !

He didn't know what version he liked better. Although his memories of London in the future had faded with his many years in his cell.

Luckily, his memories of the video game were still fresh in his mind, and he soon found the emplacement of the famous Diagon Alley. He did, however, forget which brick he needed to tap for the way to open. He sighed.

He went in blind and just pushed against every brick on the wall, hoping it would open. Even if he was expecting it, he yelped when the wall started moving. He jumped back and watched in amazement as the bricks moved by themselves.

He couldn't help but squeal. It was his first time seeing actual magic.

A man in robes and a pointy hat side eyed him and he wasn't the only one. But Severus didn't care, he was in the Diagon Alley. He almost ran to Gringotts, but managed to keep his composure and walk, or at least a very fast version of walking.

Exchanging muggle money for a few galleons and sickles was as quick as in the game.

" Do you want to open an account ? " Asked a very disgruntled goblin.

" Yes please ! " The cheery expression on Snape's face didn't fit the character at all.

Severus thought opening an account would be useless when he already had an inventory. But normally opening up an account meant doing an inheritance test. And Snape needed that Prince money.

And indeed the goblin took some of his blood.

" You could hold a claim for the Prince vault. You are fourth in line. " The goblin informed him.

Fourth, huh ? If he remembered correctly, his maternal grandfather was first, his grandmother second and laybe there were a few older cousins that had already graduated from Hogwarts. None of them would lived a long life in the video game.

He left the bank with a pouch full of gold. Under the sunlight, Severus admired one of the golden coins. It shined in the way no muggle money ever shined. Severus never had much of an affinity with jewels, but he thought he might change his mind if they all shined like that.

Focus, Severus ! He was here to buy his school supplies, not stare at the sun. He pulled out the list. It had the same list of books as when he played the game. The cauldron, wand and broom had already been locked up in his room, already bought after his first year at Hogwarts. He had already put those in his inventory to avoid having to return back home.

But Severus hadn't taken the robes. They didn't fit him well, and now that he had money to spend, he might as well buy new ones.

Severus quickly ran his errands, eager to finish the shopping quest.

[ You have achieved Hogwarts II : Shopping ]

[ + 10 Galleons ]

Hm. Nothing too great. He might spend it later along with the rest of the money in the Skill Shop. In the game, choosing Snape as your character had very little advantage at the start, but once the Skill Shop opened, there were a lot of options only accessible to players with Snape as their main character.

Hm. It was barely one in the afternoon but he had already finished everything he had set out to do. The idea of killing an innocent bystander wandered in his mind for a while. But he thought it would be too inconspicuous. Besides, Severus had never killed an actual innocent before. It just happened that most people weren't innocents once he git to know them.

Eh, but still. Murder was a no-no for now. Maybe he should go eat something. He should eat a meal since he had already skipped breakfast and lunch, but he was just really craving a sweet snack.

He wanted to get magical candy. He bought just about everything Sugarplum's sweets shop had to offer, and ate more than half of what he bought.

Next Snape had planned on buying himself one of those expensive teeth straightening magic treatment as well as a special shampoo for greasy hair. Severus had like the Snape character for the physic of his actor, not his actual physic.

Despite having yet to change his appearance and being objectively ugly as fuck, people smiled at him like he was pretty. It was definitely the influence of his charm stat.

Severus looked over at his list. He had bought the books, the new robes-

He stumbled into someone, he fell on the ground and the list fell out of his hand. He had luckily put everything else in his inventory prior to that.

" Ah, sorry. " Just because Severus didn't have morales didn't mean he didn't have manners.

Severus looked up at however had made him fall. They held out their hand before visibly doing a double take and retracting their hand. Severus had the sun in his eyes. He squinted, it was… Potter ?

Severus neither liked nor disliked Potter. Yet for some reason, he instinctively frowned and grit his teeth when he saw him. Maybe it was a residue of the original Snape's consciousness? Eh, whatever.

" Potter. " Severus tried to stay as in-character as possible, but he couldn't hide the manic glint in his voice.

He had yet to kill a wizard, but they were supposed to give a lot of Exp. Besides, Potter wasn't innocent. He had been so annoying to deal with in the game. Plus, the game never let Snape kill him.

" Snivellus ? " Potter noticed Snape's strange behavior and seemed weirded out.

Fuck this guy, he thought with a surprising amount of vitriol. Severus snarled. Severus snatched back his list Potter had in his hands before leaving.

That was…weird. Not Potter, Severus didn't care about Potter. But his own behavior was weird. The hatred he felt, and the snarling. God, he had never snarled before, yet when he was in front of Potter it… it didn't just come naturally, it was like he momentarily lost control of his face. He shuddered, he hated the familiar feeling of that complete loss of power.

Yea, fuck Potter. Severus left Diagon Alley and returned to the stolen car. He opened up his Inventory to lay out all his school books. Severus hadn't forgotten about the Learn skill he got. He opened up his book for charms. In the video game, charms were the quickest spells to learn, although they costed most MP.

Snape had never understood shit about anything intellectual in his previous life. But with the Learn skill, understanding the principles of any charms was child's play.

[ + Charms ( lvl 1 ) ]

[ + Charms ( lvl 2 ) ]

[ + Charms ( lvl 5 ) ]

Hm. Level five was just the level needed for sixth year. Honestly, it was unfair that the player even needed to relearn everything even though the game started with Snape in his sixth year. Severus still liked murder better, but he guessed leveling up his skills was also a nice upgrade.

He didn't have the motivation to go rent a room, guess he could just sleep in the car for the night.
