"Then, if my father is planning revenge, will he be in danger?"

In her heart, Skye still wanted to go looking for them, but Fini clearly didn't want her investigating this matter right now. An evil organization capable of uploading consciousness into a computer—just thinking about it suggested they were anything but simple.

"Don't worry. After all these years, he isn't that impulsive. Before he finds you or has absolute certainty of victory, he won't be that irrational."

Fini continued, "So, going to look for them now will only make things more troublesome. Most importantly, there is currently no solution to the problem, so it's better to keep things as they are for now."

Skye fell silent. After so many years, she hadn't seen her biological parents once. To say she felt very close to them would be impossible; originally, her search for them was merely to get some closure.

When she learned from Fini that there was a reason they had given her up, she wanted to see them again, to tell them that she had actually lived quite well all these years.

She had never imagined that things would be so complicated.

Fini let out a light sigh. He didn't know if telling Skye the truth was right or wrong, but there was a stubborn streak of persistence in her character. If she didn't find the truth, she would 100% continue her investigation.

If she accidentally stumbled upon something regarding Hydra, then the trouble would be massive.

"Then... when can I go look for them?"

Skye ultimately chose to believe Fini. Years of living together had built mutual trust; she firmly believed Fini wouldn't harm her.

"Wait a bit longer. It won't be too long."

Fini said thoughtfully. With Captain America's revival, it wouldn't be much longer until Hydra was exposed. And even without Captain America, there was still him. When the time came, he could take the opportunity to win over Skye's father, who was seeking revenge.

As for her mother—if the Scepter really didn't work, he could try using 'Ars Magna' again. If even that failed, there were always Hydra's brainwashing methods.

"Okay."

Skye nodded dejectedly, her heart feeling empty for a moment. Ever since she graduated, she hadn't gone to work, instead desperately studying computer technology. On one hand, it was because Fini was around, so she didn't have to worry about making a living; on the other hand, it was because she wanted to solve the mystery of her origins.

Now that she knew the truth, she was a bit lost, especially given her parents' current circumstances. What could she do to help them return to normal?

As if seeing through Skye's thoughts, Fini reached out and rubbed her head, saying softly, "Don't worry, I'm here for everything. You just need to keep being yourself."

"Thank you, Fini!"

Skye was moved. she felt that the luckiest thing in her life was coming to this home and meeting Fini.

Which was indeed the truth!

Without Fini's 'Ars Magna', Skye's life would definitely not be as peaceful and happy as it was now.

The two talked a bit more before Fini sent Skye off to rest. In his room, he thought silently about how he could obtain that very important 'Obelisk' from S.H.I.E.L.D.

And not just that—it seemed he also had to go to a specific place to perform a ritual.

Fini scratched his head in frustration. He couldn't remember where the location for that ritual was. Fortunately, he had the Compass; he should be able to use it to find the place.

Given Skye's importance to him, if he focused entirely on wanting to take her to the place where Inhumans awakened, the Compass should be able to do it.

"Should I make contact with them?"

Fini pondered silently. At this time, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra could be said to be indistinguishable from each other. At most, the Hydra members knew they were both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, while the S.H.I.E.L.D. people only knew they were S.H.I.E.L.D.

After agonizing over it for a while, Fini still didn't make a decision. He never intended to stay disconnected from S.H.I.E.L.D. forever, but right now, he really wasn't confident in his ability to safely protect himself under such a colossus.

The next morning, Skye's mood was still a bit low. Last night's conversation wasn't something she could just brush off easily. Fini had no way around this either and could only let her recover slowly.

The issues with the Green Giant and Abomination were still waiting to be resolved, and Fini's schedule was very busy. Even during classes at school, he was quietly studying spiritual body spells. Anyway, once this magic was successful, ordinary people wouldn't be able to see the soul, so they wouldn't notice anything strange.

In the blink of an eye, February arrived.

Fini's progress remained at the level of "having some insights but still useless." Comparing this to Kaecilius, who had begun showing his talent not long after arriving, his mood became increasingly gloomy.

Kamar-Taj.

"Kaecilius is truly gifted. Fini, if this continues, it won't be long before he might surpass you."

Mordo began his daily praise again, completely failing to see Fini's increasingly darkening face.

"Hmph, what's the big deal? That's only because I haven't shown my real skills yet."

Fini said stubbornly. While he wasn't very good at Kamar-Taj's spells, he wasn't bad at other 'magic'—for example, the 'Sumire's Deep-Fried Chicken Rolls' and 'Ars Magna.'

"You should view yourself correctly, Fini!"

But Mordo clearly didn't think so.

"Fine. A month's worth of chicken rolls versus his superior talent—which one do you choose!"

Fini glanced at Mordo expressionlessly, correctly viewing his own status. Yes, as a provider, why bother trying to reason with the creature you're feeding!?

"..."

Mordo's face stiffened. Although he really wanted to resist with some backbone, in the end, he couldn't withstand the temptation of his taste buds.

"Your talent is actually not bad either!"

Mordo bowed his proud head and sold out his conscience for the sake of the world's only 'Sumire's Deep-Fried Chicken Rolls.'

Heh, mortals!

Fini tilted his head up and curled his lips in disdain. Looking at Kaecilius practicing hard on the training grounds, his heart was still a bit irritated.

Coincidentally, Tony's call came through at that moment. Ever since the Iron Monger incident, Tony hadn't bothered hiding his number anymore, perhaps feeling it was no longer necessary.

"Hello!"

Fini answered the phone with some resentment. Sure enough, Pepper's sweet voice came from the other end.

"Hello, Fini, it's me, Pepper. Do you have time? Tony has some things he wants your help with."

"I don't, I didn't, don't talk nonsense."

Fini faintly heard Tony's triple-denial in the background and immediately found it curious. "This guy actually has something to ask of me? Wait a moment."

With that, he hung up the phone; he didn't want to listen to Tony's rebuttals.

Just as he expected, Tony had just snatched the phone to argue a few words, only to find the call already ended, leaving him with a belly full of frustration and nowhere to vent it.

"I have some business, so I'm leaving first!"

Giving Mordo a greeting, Fini went back to his room and opened a portal to Tony's house. After visiting a few times, he was familiar with this place to the point that it was almost like his own home.

"First, let me clarify: Pepper's relay was incorrect. I have nothing to ask of you."

As soon as he stepped out of the portal, Tony's proud and annoying voice rang out.

"Then I'll just go back!?"

Fini raised an eyebrow and turned to look at the portal, which was still open, making it look as if he were about to leave. When it came to Tony, he certainly wouldn't indulge the man just because of money.

If it weren't for the sake of being responsible, and not wanting to watch Kaecilius at Kamar-Taj, he wouldn't have come over at all.

"Although I have nothing to ask of you, I do have some matters I want to discuss with you."

It seemed there really was something. Tony spoke reluctantly. If it were just a minor matter, Tony definitely wouldn't have lowered his head so easily—at the very least, he would have had Pepper speak up to persuade him to stay.
