On the other side, Miriam, David, and Ace finally activated the final beacon. "Finally! We finally activated the final beacon!" said Miriam. A sudden noise was heard from across the city. "Woah. What was that?" said Ace. "Probably a building falling since, you know, this is a Fall City. Buildings have been falling. As the name says, Fall Arena," David said. "Yeah, you don't have to spell it out," Ace responded. "Smartphones from the 1960s. You're from the 1960s too," Miriam said sarcastically. "Can you both keep quiet? This could be serious. Alice and CJ could be fighting some type of monster or something," said Ace. "Well, doesn't matter. The gate is open. Let's walk through it," said David. "Wait, the gate is in the middle of the city," Ace responded. "Exactly, we have to go to the middle of the city," said Miriam. "Wait, the middle of the city? Isn't that where we heard those explosions from?" said David. "Well, it doesn't matter. We can't be afraid. If anything comes up, we can handle it," Ace said confidently.
As they made their way to the center, monsters appeared. Ace used his construction power, manipulating the floor and creating spikes, impaling the monsters and holding them in place. Then Miriam said, "My turn." Flames shot out from her hands, burning the monsters to ashes. "Well, that was a bit violent," said David. "Says the guy who can literally reverse healing into destruction," Ace responded. "Fair point," said David.
As they approached the center of the city, they all felt it. "Hey, guys. Can you feel it? This presence... it feels kind of sad and terrified, but also... dangerous," said Ace. "I feel it too. What is this? It's there... it's overwhelming," said David. "We need to hurry. Make sure that Alice and CJ are okay," said Miriam. "What if they're dead?" said David nervously. But Ace responded, "No. Those two are strong. Besides, remember, we all have 5 lives. Let's move."Alice drew her sword and struck the knight. She fought with all her force. But the knight looked at Alice with pity, almost amusement. "This... this is what you call a fight? You are just my playthings. You will die eventually." Then the knight struck Alice and hit her across the area. Alice flew through 3 buildings. Normally, she could have died at Level 1. But this time she was Level 2, so she managed to survive. But again, she was heavily injured.
The three Miriam, David, and Ace—finally arrived. As they looked up at the knight, the knight saw them in the distance. "More insects," the knight said. The knight threw its sword like a boomerang, trying to cut them. It threw them each in different directions. David, with his healing, healed himself and stood up almost like nothing happened. "Well, I guess we have to kill you then." With his reversed healing, a ball of destruction formed in his hands and he threw it at the knight. But it didn't do much damage, probably because David is still Level 1.
"Wait, don't do anything reckless!" Ace said to David. But before he could respond, the knight came charging at him. Luckily, CJ held it back with his aura hands. Then Miriam, using her fireball power, threw fireballs at its head. Now annoyed, the knight's sword began to illuminate with electricity. The electricity began to electrify all of them in that area.
Alice, battered and bruised, rose from the rubble of blood. Then she started charging. "Force equals mass times acceleration," Alice said. She stabbed the knight. The knight finally stumbled. Miriam, using her fire power, rose up in the sky and threw a lot of fireballs at its face. Meanwhile, CJ used his aura hands to hold it down. Then Ace used his construction power and created spikes that shot up from the ground, stabbing into the knight's chest.
"Woah. So you five... you're so weak, but together you're overwhelming me," the knight said to itself. "How am I supposed to defeat them? That one is powerful with destruction. That one has healing. This smaller one has restricted me with those aura hands. These fireballs are irritating. The floor is being used against me. My body... this one's speed is outstanding."
Finally, Ace, still weakened, grabbed the floor and used his construction power. Spikes shot up from the ground and impaled the knight's body, stopping it in place. Then Alice charged, swiped her sword towards the head, and beheaded the knight. The knight's head rolled away. While it spoke its final words, "Well done at defeating me... but those powers of yours are nothing compared to the Queen and King of Spades. I have served my purpose." The knight disappeared.
And then a portal opened. "Finally! Can we rest now?" said Ace. Alice got up, still heavily injured. "Wait, what about us? We're injured too!" said Miriam. "You guys are fine. I think I'm running low on energy," responded David. "The gate is finally open. Can we now finally walk through it?" said CJ. "I guess that would be a smart idea," said Alice. "Wait, shouldn't we try to find anything interesting? Like, there could be some treasures," said CJ. "Yeah, let's try to check for those," said Miriam.
So then Alice and the rest began searching for any traces of treasure. But they didn't find anything. And they had to run because the city then began to crumble and collapse. The buildings began falling out of place, coming down fast. "Run!" shouted Alice. CJ, David, Ace, and Miriam all rushed toward the portal. Alice, CJ, David, Ace, and Miriam walked through the portal and landed in a white room.
A voice spoke: "Welcome, players. Congratulations on defeating Levels 2, 3, and 4. Level 5 will begin shortly. But first, you'll be teleported to the center of the game of cards where you can purchase anything or relax for a while."
