The golden morning light filtered through the windows, casting long shadows over the central table, which was clear of any kind of papers, parchment, or reports; only two teapots and five tea cups sat upon it.

Daigo, who grabbed one of the tea cups, was sitting on the edge of the table, enjoying the peaceful morning.

In front of him, four people seemed to be doing the same: Pakura beside him, Sasori to his right with Karinna, and finally, Rasa.

They were about to have a meeting in a few seconds, though for them, this was more a moment of tranquility than the tension of everything that had been happening these past few days.

Rasa, being the first to finish his tea, was the one who began the meeting.

"The Seven-Tails is, without a doubt, our greatest acquisition," Rasa commented, while seeming to think about what to say next.

"With the Seven-Tails, we now have two biju in the village's possession, which makes us even stronger than before if we manage to train both."

Daigo nodded from his spot, setting his tea cup down calmly to respond to Rasa.

"Exactly," Daigo replied firmly. "But that is why I prefer that we maintain calm. I don't want us to rush. The Nanabi is contained in the vessel for now, and I fully trust the sealing criteria of Sasori and Karinna."

Sasori, feeling the weight of what both had said, took advantage of the silence to add something as well.

"You're right, Daigo. If you give us the leeway, we can prepare something that not only contains the beast's chakra but allows for a harmonious synchronization between the host and the Nanabi. That is much more valuable to Suna in the long run than a broken container or a weapon we cannot control. We need stability."

"It's the best for Suna," added Karinna with a serene smile that transmitted tranquility to the rest of the group. "I believe we don't need another jinchuriki who loses their mind or is consumed by the beast's hatred."

Daigo gave them a calm look. He didn't know about sealing the way those two did, but if they were confident in achieving it, he could only give them his support.

The conversation flowed naturally, without the political tensions of a traditional council of elders, toward the next topic: Kisame Hoshigaki.

"Oh, I forgot about Kisame," Rasa said, crossing his arms but with a reflective tone. "I fully understand why you want him in our ranks. He is a ninja of exceptional capabilities, a level few can match. However, I can't help but mention that the distrust of the other ninjas is natural given his past in Kiri. It's something we will have to manage very carefully, as he might betray us."

Daigo shook his head, defending his new ally with unshakeable conviction.

"Kisame is a worthy ninja, a warrior in every sense of the word. He is a man who has been oppressed by the hypocrisy and corruption of his own village, an individual who, despite the circumstances, maintained a code of loyalty that very few possess," Daigo said, drawing everyone's full attention.

"His problem was that, until now, that honor had no place to flourish, no place to be recognized. He will stay here until he is fully recovered. Once his wounds heal, we will bring him to Suna. The information he could offer us will help us plan more for the future."

"And what about the swords?" Pakura asked with a glimmer of curiosity. "We have them all. Seven legendary swords in our hands. It would be a waste for them to gather dust in a safe."

Daigo didn't hesitate to speak.

"I was just about to propose that. I want to create our own generation of 'Desert Swordsmen.' Although I want to select the members one by one, so if you have any suggestions that can help, don't hesitate to present them. Currently, we have two of the seven: Kisame with Samehada and Kaito with Kabutowari."

The idea was received with general approval. Suggestions and concrete plans for the selection were heard. Afterward, they continued talking a bit more, but there was nothing left to discuss, so it was time to end the meeting.

"Good work, everyone," Daigo said, finishing a new cup of tea. "Rasa, take charge of the new plantations that are being made. Sasori, Karinna, begin the preparations for the seal without delay."

One by one, they retreated, leaving the office with an air of tranquility. The room was left in a comfortable, almost cozy silence. Pakura was the last to get up, but instead of heading to the door, she remained standing by the window, watching as the others left and disappeared into the base's hallways.

Daigo, who gathered some documents and began to organize them on the table, noticed her.

"Is something wrong, Pakura-chan?" he asked with a light smile, without looking up.

Pakura didn't respond immediately.

She turned slowly, and the smile Daigo expected did not appear on her face. Her expression was tense, with a seriousness that broke the harmony that had just reigned in the room. The air seemed to cool suddenly.

"Yes, something is wrong, Daigo," she said, with a voice that, although low, vibrated with a contained tension she hadn't shown during the entire meeting. "I stayed because I couldn't say this in front of the others. It didn't seem right to do so in front of them."

Daigo left the papers on the table, feeling the environment change abruptly, shifting from the warmth of collaboration to the cutting cold of reality. He turned to face her, crossing his arms.

"I'm listening. You know you can be direct with me."

"You are hiding too many things, Daigo," she said, taking a step toward him. Her eyes, normally warm, now distilled a worrying coldness.

"The Nanabi, the way you manage Kisame, and now this swordsmen project... you decide everything alone. You act as if you were the only one making decisions in the village."

Daigo arched an eyebrow, confused and genuinely surprised by the change in tone.

"It's my job as Kazekage, Pakura. To make the difficult decisions that ensure the village's well-being. Hasn't everything turned out well so far? The results speak for themselves, and besides, I have spoken about it with you all."

"I'm not talking about us; I'm talking about the council," she replied, her tone rising, losing her composure.

"Doing what you want, keeping secrets, and acting like a lone wolf when there is a council you haven't spoken to in weeks, maybe months?"

"What's wrong with not telling the council if it's for the good of Suna?" Daigo asked, beginning to feel a pang of frustration. "I've brought a Bijuu, I've brought the swords, we are going to start building a military force that Suna has never had in its history. Why would they question it now?"

"Because you are not a dictator, Daigo. There are levels of power that a Kage cannot handle all alone. Do you know why the council was created? So that a single person wouldn't hold all the power," Pakura responded, her voice loaded with a frustration that had been brewing for weeks.

"Who said I'm a dictator? What I do, I do for the village. If I don't talk to the council, it's because I know they won't accept the things we do, or they will always find a 'but.' But if you look, everything has gone well, Pakura. Seriously, why are you arguing with me about something so stupid?" Daigo said, raising his voice, already losing patience with this discussion.

Before Daigo's tone, Pakura didn't wait to release everything she had, striking the table with a solid blow that cracked it.

"Don't shout at me if I am doing my job by helping you with this!" Pakura said, pointing at him.

"And I didn't just want to tell you about that; also about what happened in the fight against Kisame. You told us to stand aside, that you would take care of it. That is not something a kage does. You put your life at risk, and with it, the future of an entire nation. If something had happened to you, Suna would collapse in an instant. Don't you see it? Don't you understand the fragility of what you have built?"

"I am the strongest, Pakura. What do you want me to do? Hide behind my subordinates while others fight?" The arrogance began to seep into Daigo's voice, a product of being on the defensive. He felt attacked by the only person whose opinion he valued most. "I have always done things my way and I have always won. Why should I change now that there is a council that in all its years hasn't fixed a damn thing in the village? And I am the one doing it for them"

"Because you are no longer a common ninja doing what you want in the desert!" she exclaimed, hitting the table again with force. This time, it shattered under the pressure.

"You are the Kazekage! Each of your actions weighs on the lives of thousands. But it seems that position didn't give you the wisdom I expected; it gave you blindness. You have become deaf to the voices around you, including common sense."

Daigo stood up, his imposing aura filling the room. He was tired, confused, and, above all, fed up with someone he loved and trusted treating him as if he were doubting everything he had done.

"Enough!" Daigo snapped, his voice resonating with cold, sharp authority. "If you are so bothered by my way of leading, go ahead, do whatever you want. But as long as I am the Kazekage, things will be done my way. I take the front, I take the risk, and Suna will prosper by my will, whether they like it or not."

The silence that followed his words was absolute. It was the silence of a total disconnection, an abyss that opened between two people who previously walked in parallel.

Pakura looked at him, not with explosive rage, but with a disappointment so deep, so desolate, that it pierced deeper than any insult he had ever received. Her eyes shone with a moisture she refused to let fall.

Without warning, her hand slapped across Daigo's cheek. A dry, quick blow, filled with a frustration that could not be expressed in words. The sound resonated off the stone walls, an echo that seemed to mark the end of their relationship's innocence.

Daigo stood there, his head slightly tilted from the impact, the stinging on his cheek being the only thing keeping him anchored to reality. No one, ever, had touched him like that. The physical pain was a trifle compared to the blow to his pride and the image he held of himself.

"You're disappointed..." Daigo murmured, his voice empty, almost inaudible.

"You have completely deviated from what you wanted to do when you managed to become Kazekage," Pakura said, her voice broken by disappointment.

"If this is what you want to be, then do it, Daigo. It won't do you any good when you realize that you are completely alone. Even if you have all the power in the world, you will feel empty."

Without looking back, Pakura turned and left the office, her footsteps resonating firmly down the hallway until they were lost in the distance.

Daigo was left alone. The silence, which had previously been one of collaboration, now felt like a solitary confinement cell. He slumped into his chair, placing a hand on his still-warm cheek, feeling the reddened skin.

There was no immediate rage, only a confusion that squeezed his chest. He looked at the papers on his desk.

Everything he had built in the meeting, the future of Suna, the swordsmen project... suddenly, it felt small against the void Pakura had just left.

What did he really want? Power? A home? A retirement? The confusion was consuming him. The tension in Kanzaki, the pressure from Pakura, the constant weight of decisions.

He wondered, with a brutal honesty he rarely allowed himself, if power was corrupting him or if he was simply ceasing to be a man to become the symbol Suna needed. But at what cost?

The next day, the order was clear. Daigo would leave the command of Kanzaki in the hands of Rasa and Pakura.

The news took everyone by surprise, but no one dared to question the Kage's decision after the tense atmosphere that had been witnessed. Everyone felt it was better for the leader to take some distance before the pressure made the base explode.

Daigo began the journey back to Sunagakure, accompanied only by Sasori, Karinna, and the vessel of the Nanabi. Kisame would join them later when he was recovered.
