Chapter 273 - Annihilation - Part 1 - Chapter 273

Conrad continued sitting there for a while longer. There was absolutely no reason for him to get up and disturb his own comfort immediately.

Of course, Hisoka finding him and speaking to him like this was a surprising and unexpected development, but at the same time, what Conrad had suspected had finally happened.

At this point, Conrad did not particularly care whether Hisoka wanted to hunt him down or fight him. No matter what happened, Conrad clearly knew that unless he himself desired it, Hisoka was not a truly fatal threat to him.

And "desiring it" simply meant recklessly pushing his luck and refusing to retreat, something Conrad personally did not place much importance on.

If Hisoka truly wanted to fight him and kill him, Conrad would simply prepare a proper plan, attack him together with the entire team if necessary, prevent his escape, and end the matter there.

Thinking about it objectively, the death and disappearance of someone like Hisoka could hardly be considered a bad thing.

"Hmm... There are still actions Hisoka needs to take that I want to witness..."

"In the future, if he's still alive and still wants to fight me, I can grant him that wish."

"Until then, I have at least a few years. Within a few years, my physical abilities and speed will comfortably reach the level of the Royal Guards, and I'll possess at least three or four more Nen abilities."

"At that point, aside from Meruem, Alluka, the AI that grants wishes, Netero, and Adult Gon... I won't have many opponents left..." Conrad thought.

At the same time, a smile appeared on his face.

"Of course... that's if I don't include Ging, Pariston, Beyond, the Fourth Prince of Kakin, and the other princes in the equation."

By now, Conrad had a clear understanding of what kind of enemies truly posed danger. Those ideas had formed through experience.

Vividian Vein and Deep Point had shown him how some beings from the Dark Continent used Nen and fought.

At the same time, it was already clearly known that even among Nen creatures, truly extraordinary monsters still existed.

"I can understand better now what Netero felt. After Netero, Zzig, and Linnet traveled to the Dark Continent, Netero became dissatisfied because he could not find a being that truly matched the concept of an opponent he sought..."

"I suppose what he meant wasn't really a rival or a duel, but rather a struggle for survival against nature itself."

Conrad let out a quiet breath. After finishing his coffee, he left a few banknotes on the table and stood up.

That evening, he intended to wipe out a Mafia family.

Quarmir Mansion

"Ridlef..."

"I assume you made the necessary preparations," said a young man with a long beard.

Ridlef looked at the bearded man and nodded.

"I already told you there's no need to worry about that, didn't I, Miladi?"

"I placed many 'mirrors' around the area so they could be useful for my ability, and I instructed the servants to use them as well... while I watched it."

"As long as nothing major happens, all mirrors are ready for use."

Miladi nodded and took a deep breath.

"Sometimes I envy your ability..." he whispered.

Ridlef merely smiled and placed a plain white mask over his face, one devoid of any emotion. He was dressed in a simple black ninja outfit.

Ridlef had been working as a bodyguard for the Quarmir family for quite some time.

Even though he did not particularly prefer the job, they truly paid far better than most other families did.

Previously, he had worked as an assassin, but after realizing how dangerous that profession generally was, he had shifted toward a simpler and safer job like bodyguard work.

"Mirror Traveler – Mirror Ninja."

That was the name of Ridlef's Nen ability.

Ridlef was an Emitter-type Nen user capable of teleporting through mirrors.

Because he was neither an exceptionally strong nor highly talented Nen user, simply limiting the ability to "mirror" alone was not enough.

Ridlef could only teleport between "mirrors," and he needed to physically see the mirror he wished to teleport to at the exact moment he activated the ability.

The concept of a "mirror" did not include all reflective surfaces. For an object to qualify as a "mirror," Ridlef first needed to witness someone standing before it and looking at themselves in it.

After Ridlef witnessed someone looking into a mirror and observing themselves, he then needed to place his hand on that mirror for three seconds.

Once those conditions were fulfilled, Ridlef could teleport to it, as long as he saw the Mirror.

He does not need to see the mirror with his own eyes as long as he is close to it; a photo of it, a video, can be used.

The mark on the mirror will vanish after three days, and it needs to be activated again, and the effective range is about five hundred meters.

Ridlef stepped toward the window and scanned the surrounding grounds with his eyes. A strange and unpleasant feeling lingered inside him.

"Miladi... I'd appreciate it if you used your ability. I remember the boss cultivated you to use it."

"I have a bad feeling..."

Miladi looked at Ridlef, tilted his head slightly to the side, and muttered a few times.

"You're not usually the type to get caught up in feelings like that. Thinking this way in broad daylight isn't very normal," he said.

Ridlef shook his head from side to side.

"I can't fully explain it. Maybe the date of the underground auction getting closer is making me uneasy."

Miladi nodded.

"Whatever it is, there's no harm in being careful."

After finishing his words, Miladi spread his hands apart, and a few seconds later, a red sphere appeared.

"Boss Aresto Quarmir," he whispered.

After whispering, he began waiting.

Several minutes later, the red sphere slowly turned black.

"Hmm..."

"That's not a good sign at all," he said in a cold and serious tone.

"Black... doesn't that color symbolize danger? The conditions for your Nen ability are extremely heavy..."

"If your Nen ability activated successfully after all those conditions, that means Aresto Quarmir the bossis in danger."

Miladi nodded.

"After working with the boss for such a long time, I decided to create this Nen ability to protect him..."

"It only works on Aresto Quarmir... my beloved boss. Which means that within the next three days, the boss will face an extremely serious danger..."

Ridlef did not understand what Aresto did to make Miladi have such loyalty towards to him to create a nen ability that just on himself, but he still believed it is one of the best idea for a mob boss to protect himself.
