Chapter 44 - New Ability Complete - Next Battle Of Nen - Chapter 44

For the next fifteen days Conrad just kept on training.

Conrad did not leave his room unless it was necessary; he left it when he needed to leave to go to the training grounds for training nen applications.

The three steel orbs no longer seemed foreign to him.

By the fifth day, Conrad could move them without effort.

They followed him through the room like obedient satellites.

By the seventh day, he could move all three at once at combat speed without any problem.

Only then did he allow himself to begin the true work.

Aura Blast came first.

He practiced the technique with his own body until the result was repeatable, then began imprinting the structure into the first orb.

The process was slow and draining.

It was not enough to pour aura into the orb.

He had to shape intent and release into a fixed pattern.

When the orb finally responded on its own, releasing a clean, short-range blast exactly as intended

Conrad ate and drank well that night.

"I am not that bad," he said to himself and kept on grinning.

After Aura Blast, White Death or Range Nen Bullet followed.

Unlike Aura Blast, this one required restraint rather than force.

The application was basically a long-range emission bullet.

Conrad spent hours standing still.

Encoding that level of precision into the "Orb" was hard, much harder than the Aura Blast.

Many calculations needed to be done in terms of timing and targeting purposes.

More than once, he stopped the process midway when the aura structure destabilized.

By the twelfth day, the second orb was complete.

The third was the hardest.

Sensing Pulse demanded En.

Conrad's En was still limited in range, but it had grown stable over time.

Five seconds of perfect perception was really important to him, especially indoors, like in Black Whale or inside of a big building.

He trained until his head throbbed and his aura felt thin.

By the end of the fifteenth day, the Trinity Archive was complete.

Three orbs.

Three prepared Nen applications.

With training finished, Conrad wasted no time.

He went straight to the reception desk on the combat floor and stated his intent to fight.

The clerk checked the system, confirmed his status, and informed him that the earliest available match was two days later.

"That's fine," Conrad replied.

He did not need to rush.

With nothing left to prepare, his mind turned to something more mundane.

Money.

After accounting for expenses for training materials, equipment, travel, and the cost of maintaining his training room, despite not being expensive, Conrad looked at his remaining funds at roughly three hundred and fifty million, Jenny.

And more importantly, he disliked the idea of relying on active income alone.

So, during the waiting period, he went to a real estate office near the commercial district of Heavens Arena.

The building was modern.

The agent assigned to him was polite.

Conrad explained what he wanted.

A hotel.

Nothing extravagant.

He also said to the agent that he did not have time to manage anything, so he needed an already running hotel that is managed by a company.

After several hours of review, they found one that fit his criteria.

A mid-sized hotel with steady occupancy, located near a transport hub.

The management company had a solid reputation.

The price was one hundred million, Jenny.

Conrad did not hesitate.

When he first arrived at the floor hundreds, he was thinking of investing his money in some place from the start.

He did not have time, but right now he has, and there is nothing to lose from not owning such a place.

The terms were straightforward.

The management company would continue operating the hotel as before.

In exchange, Conrad would receive ninety percent of the net monthly profit.

The remaining ten percent would cover management fees.

Projected income ranged from two to five million yen per month.

When the contract was signed and the transfer completed,

"A foundation that would remain even if I am injured." Conrad thought.

For an office worker from Earth like him to have a hotel, it felt like a dream.

"All that using nen and supernatural powers, but the capability of buying a hotel has the same amount of satisfaction."

As an ordinary income individual, he could never imagine owning a hotel by himself, so it was important to him.

As he left the office, Conrad reflected on the contrast.

"Two weeks ago, I fled Kakin under pressure from too many Nen users and military-level enemies."

"Now, with the new ability and more experience and capability to use nen in different ways, I have more chance to complete the mission."

Of course, Conrad knew that at this point, there was no need to go get the staff at all.

He thought, in the world of Hunter x Hunter, if the power difference is not like a Royal Guard and human nen users, fighting against a group of nen users is always dangerous.

Individually, fighting against nen users was not hard, but as long as they have a mastermind, a group of five nen users can easily create a plan that may take out a dangerous enemy and a nen user they could not dream of taking on.

Two days remained before his next fight; he wanted to fight for real and was excited this time.
