Snuggling further into Inv's back I let his fur completely wrap me again. Only my head peeking out from over his shoulder while the rest of my body is somehow wrapped against Inv's back covered in blue vibrant fur.
I'm definitely not enjoying this more than I should be. Definitely not…

Feeling Inv's purr he starts moving forward jumping over some protorot covering the ground onto a vertical pole. Climbing to the top of the pole Inv jumps over to another vertical pole.
Looking ahead we can both see a wide-open area with no protorot that leads to a tunnel. Feeling Inv about to move down the pole and jump over, I stop him.
"Not that way Inv, that tunnel leads to another dead end" saying this to Inv before he moves down any further. He stops, his head turning to me.
"Wher we gu den??"
"Climb back up the pole and grab the rot vine above it" I look up and point to a blue vine that looks similar to a DDL tentacle.
Inv looks up towards the rot vine, and I can see his face visibly scrunch up.
"I ca gwab dat??" Inv asks in disgusted confusion.
"Yeah, it won't hurt us. It's safe to climb across with." I respond back with our only way forward.
Pausing for a brief moment, Inv gives a hesitant nod and starts climbing back up the pole. Reaching the top of the pole Inv balances on top of it.
After a moment of hesitation Inv jumps up grabbing the rot vine with both paws.
Feeling a shiver come from Inv, I can tell this kind isn't one of satisfaction but one of disgust. It would only make sense since he is basically touching rot right now.
With him not moving forward across the vine, probably trying to get used to the feeling of the rot vine, I look around the surroundings. I can't just stay put and let Inv do all the work!
While looking around I can feel Inv about to start moving across the rot vine until I spot something on the ceiling ahead of us.
"Inv Stop!" I urgently whisper loudly in Inv's ear. Hearing me he stops on the spot.
"W-wats wong Joey??" Inv whispers back in worry.
"Theres a dropwig ahead over the vine"
Thankfully I was paying attention, or it would've jumped right on top of us! I can only assume Inv didn't see it due to climbing across the rot vine.
"Wats a dwopwig??"
Hearing his question, I feel surprised only for a moment before I remember until up to this point that Inv has been calling dropwigs 'beg bugs'.
"The big bug you killed earlier, it's called a dropwig" I explain to him.
"I cee…" Inv mumbles back while looking up at the dropwig.
Even with Inv having spears in both paws, he isn't able to use them while holding onto the rot vine like this… Thankfully I kept the rock I used earlier on me!
"Don't worry Inv, I can handle this" I whisper back to Inv, clutching a rock I've kept on me just in case.
"U-u sur??"
In response to his question, I start moving my arm that is holding the rock. Feeling next to no resistance I free my arm from Inv's protective fur.
Aiming upwards towards the dropwig, I throw the rock right towards it.
Noticing the rock heading right towards it, it drops down dodging the rock. Seeing this I feel a small smirk spread across my face. Even if it dodges the rock, it's still done for…
Looking down over Inv's shoulder I see the dropwig land in a bunch of protorot that is below us.
Landing in the rot the dropwig immediately tries to pry itself from the blue orbs of death. But its attempts are in vain, quickly being consumed and vanishing from sight.
…
Seeing other creatures die to protorot is still very unsettling. How can such small orbs consume creatures so fast?
…
After a moment of silence, I put the paw I threw the rock with back on Inv's back. Feeling my paw, Inv stops staring down where the dropwig fell. Quickly my paw is wrapped back up in Inv's fur.
The idea of Inv giving me one of the spears pops into my head but I decide against it. Trying to hold a spear while on Inv's back would be impractical.
'I also don't want to remove any part of me from Inv…'
Definitely not a weird thought, not at all.
"Ok, we can keep going Inv. I'll tell you which ways to take" I say back to him after my paw is fully wrapped.
Turning his head towards me, Inv gives me a smile nodding his head.
"Ok Joey!!"
Crossing the Rot vine and climbing over the edge. Me and Inv fall into a pattern. Me pointing towards the right path and Inv traversing the way.
In a surprising time, we reach the top platform that has the pipe that leads to the swarm room.
"Es dat de wa tu de swar rom u wer talkin abou??" Inv asks while looking ahead at the pipe.
"Yup! All we need to do now is fill up on food and return back to the shelter!" I say excitedly. Happy by the fact we were able to pass the hurdle of climbing this far up on the first try!
I was really worried that one of us would die or something… but we didn't!
…
Oh, fuck I hope I just didn't jinx it…
"Su… shud i le yu dow noaw??" Inv's head turns to me and asks.
"...yeah, you can let me down now…" I say back reluctantly, not wanting to let go of the mobile blanket…
Giving me a small nod and a face I can't read, Inv's fur starts slowly unwrapping around me. The biting cold hitting my body.
'Damn it! I want my blanket back!'
I won't let Inv carry me around everywhere though. I don't want to burden Inv carrying me around everywhere.
When his fur completely unwraps around me, I hop off his back. Landing on the hard metal ground I can feel the unforgiving cold ground.
'Gotta get back to the shelter pronto! I can't ever go back to walking around cold!' With a new resolution to get back to the shelter I look up at Inv.
Inv, who's looking down at me with a light red face. Looks at me with slight confusion on why I probably stopped to look up at him. Letting my stare linger I take a small glance at his left ear and upper left portion of his face that is completely pink with my color.
…
Before I stop looking at Inv, His face brightens up as if remembering something.
"h-hera yur spera Joey!" Inv hold's one of the spears he's holding out towards me.
Reaching out I grab the spear from his paw without hesitation. Something tells me I'm going to need this very soon...
"Thanks Inv, lets quickly finish this up and head back to the shelter" I look back towards the pipe and walk forward to the swarm room.
"O-ok!!" Hearing Inv chirp this behind me, I move forward. Thoughts of being smothered by Inv floating in my mind.
