Chapter 0: The Choice and the Consequences

Philosophical Takeaway 

Every choice we make is a result of the human need to reduce risk. However, it has consequences that will ultimately have danger. That is the ironic paradox of choice. 

The sun spilled gold over the vast green land. The grass swaying like ocean waves, the flowers blooming with colors painting the terrain with life.

Kayn sank to the ground, letting the wind brush against his skin gently. The air felt to him like possibility, not confinement. 

His eyes caught a withered flower, in a sea of blooming ones, silently pleading for care. He rose, stepping over the gentle grass, his heart stirring with quiet empathy. 

If I were still inside those walls, still confined… He thought this life would've been lost without notice. Just as mine once was.

He activated Engravement Invocation; Rewrite. He reshaped the flower's essence. Its petals are colorful once again, alive and vibrant.

Yet, even as the bloom bathed in sunlight, there is a shadow lingering in the distance. Freedom is beautiful–but carries unforeseen consequences.

Kayn lets his fingers drift smoothly across the restored petals, feeling the life he gave to the once withered flower. He admired its color.

He slowly rose, watching it sway freely once again along with the sea of blooming flowers. Kayn slowly turned, and walked away. 

The consequences will eventually get me… He reflects, But, that is the price of my choice. The choice to gain freedom, from the shackles of expectations.
