Chapter 15 - The World the Student Left Behind.

The whole room was dark and damp, yet it wasn't silent. Inside were six people, and a fight was in progress. Although one was on the floor, already down for the count.

It was a four-to-one match, yet it felt like the numerical advantage didn't matter.

A brown-haired student towered over a gasping and defeated Afro-Japanese student. The brown-haired student easily dispatched his opponent with precise strikes and surprising dexterity.

"Ayanokoji!" A dark green-haired student shouted, approaching with a winded punch.

"If you're coming for me, don't shout," Ayanokoji said and then easily dispatched the attacking student. The student was finally down for the count.

Ayanokoji then delivered a sweeping kick to the rising Afro-Japanese student. Finally, knocking him out. He then glanced at the two remaining opponents, surprised yet still composed.

"Apparently, you're more than what I expected." A magenta long-haired student remarked.

The female student beside the magenta-haired student was shaken. Becoming unsure.

"Haven't you noticed it yet? I was the one who created this situation, where violence is the only way to end this." Ayanokoji said with silent confidence.

A small rumble caused all of the students to stand in place for a second. It was as if there was an earthquake or a small explosion. After some momentary silence, the students thought nothing of it, instantly resuming to the business at hand.

The magenta-haired student raised a brow. "Huh? What are you implying?"

Ayanokoji kept a threatening glare. "If I wanted to hide my true identity, I wouldn't have used Manabe from the beginning."

"And you may have thought you'd set everything in motion according to your plan."

The magenta-haired student was slightly confused. "You're saying you made it look as if you were dancing on the palm of my hand?"

"I made you see it that way when you were actually dancing on mine," Ayanoko replied.

"I see! It seems I was the one who was put on the stage." The magenta-haired student said with a mocking tone, almost chuckling.

"So what are you going to do about this, Ibuki?"

The female student, Mio Ibuki, was surprised. Her eyebrows furrowed in agitated frustration.

"What the hell is this.... You... and Ayanokoji!" Ibuki delivered an upward kick, aiming for Ayanokoji's head, lifting her school skirt. She then tried to take down Ayanokoji, but he just deftly dodged all the close-range attacks.

"You just piss me off! I have no idea about any of this, but I'm pissed off!" She said, continuing her well-trained martial barrage of attacks.

After a straight kick, Ayanokoji sensed an opening and then grabbed her leg, then knocked her out with a simple chopping attack to the neck.

He slowly lowered her figure, making her lean against a foundation.

The other female student, who was not part of the combat, could only stare in amazement at Ayanokoji's surprising combat skills.

"I underestimated you, Ayanokoji."

"You're still cool as a cucumber, Ryuen..." Ayanokoji said, slowly approaching Ryuen.

"It's not only the physical strength that matters in a battle of violence.

The magenta-haired student, Ryuen, approached and tried to kick Ayanokoji, but he missed.

Ryuen then attacked Ayanokoji, but they were all parried. However, he managed to grab Ayanokoji's arms but was ultimately forced to let go after a kick and a counterattack.

"You're good, Ryuen..." Ayanokoji said.

"Interesting. I can't get enough of this, Ayanokoji. For me, everything is a game. Crushing other classes, and dragging out the mastermind, too." Ryuen said, grabbing and throwing a small set of ladders towards Ayanokoji, who swiftly dodged them.

He then attacked and managed to pin Ayanokoji against a wall by pressing his arms against Ayanokoji's neck and upper chest.

A small rumble disturbed their fight, but they kept fighting nonetheless. Ryuen was about to say something, but instead focused on trying to choke Ayanokoji.

Then another small rumble. They fought and exchanged words, but they were of little importance. Ryuen kept talking about the experience and results of violence and the importance of it in the world.

The fight then continued until Ryuen was finally pinned against the floor. "Do it then, next time I'll bite and then win!"

"Just what have you been on about all this time?" Ayanokoji said, surprising Ryuen, whose face was swollen.

Ayanokoji punched.

Then another.

Then another.

Then another.

Ayanokoji's fists were bruised and bloodied. "This trivial task doesn't move my heart." He kept punching.

"And emotions can't possibly peek through." He kept punching until there was a lot of blood splattered all over the floor beside Ryuen, and finally saw the fear in Ryuen's eyes.

The fear that Ayanokoji wanted to show him.

"Ah, that's it, Ryuen." Then he knocked him out. "That fear exists within you..." Then they both fell straight through the floor.

Leaving a battered and confused female student, who was the only one left conscious... "Ayanokoji...?" It was Kei Karuizawa.

Four days have passed, and the two haven't returned yet. There was an announcement in the school about two missing students after a fight. The only witness was a scared student who gave a testimony that the two fell through the floor.

A student, infuriation creeping into his expression, tapped his heels on the floor where the two students supposedly fell through. There was no damage on the floor, nor were there any irregularities. Just a cold, hard floor.

It was Manabu Horikita. He adjusted his spectacles and glared at the ground. "So much for ending a war. It's desertion at best." He said, carrying a missing poster.

"This is one big mess entrusted to me deal with."

Then footsteps approached. It was a group of students.

"Y-you!? You're the former student council president!?" A female student said, " It was Mio Ibuki.

Manabu kept silent and headed for the exit, unwilling to engage in conversation.

"What a snob." A dark green-haired student remarked, " It was Daichi Isihazaki. He pumped his fists, willing to engage in an altercation.

"Stop it," Mio said, sighing. The whole class was now sliding into pandemonium, now that their leader, Kakeru Ryuen, was gone. Mio stared at the cold floor.

"This is so damned frustrating..." Mio said while a soft hand appeared in her shoulder. It was the Afro-Japanese student, giving a comforting grace.

As for Class 1-D, the effects have yet to manifest, but cracks have begun to show.

Suzune Horikita was keeping the class in line, still confident in her abilities. With or without Ayanokoji, she can achieve her goals. The whole incident left her with more questions, but she wouldn't let it get to her.

Kei Karuizawa. The only witness was treated more as an oddity rather than a witness inside the class. Her words have hung over the whole school. Her classmates even kept their distance, unsure of what to make of her.

"Mastermind of Class 1-D was Ayanokoji. I still couldn't believe it." Ken Sudo said.

"It's a lie. Don't believe Class 1-C. If anything, Suzune is the mastermind. Hell, maybe even me." Yamauchi said.

"Yeah, right..." Kanji said, shaking his head.

The homeroom teacher entered the classroom, Ms. Sae Chabashira. She glanced at the empty seat of Ayanokoji and sighed. The last time they met was when he declared to watch or observe the conclusion.

If this is the conclusion, then this is mind-boggling indeed. She also received some mysterious calls and mysterious visitors lately. That Ayanokoji kid was becoming more of a problem rather than an asset; she was losing sleep because of it.

"Forget rising to Class A. Those two will be expelled if they surface." Sae Chabashira said with a sigh and then started the class lecture.
