Chapter 225: Stealing the Sealing Scroll
"A giant snake summon?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi, who was in the middle of besieging the salamander, felt a headache coming on. Why were all these summoned beasts appearing at once?
"Wait!"
Hiruzen suddenly widened his eyes. "Hanzō of the Salamander, the experimentally created Snake-marked people, and now a giant snake? Could it be…"
"Orochimaru isn't dead?" The more Hiruzen thought about it, the more certain he became. Orochimaru had betrayed Konoha and was now colluding with Hanzō of the Salamander—two poisonous forces working together!
"Damn it!" Hiruzen roared through gritted teeth. "Have Danzō send people to deal with the giant snake—this cannot be delayed!"
Under normal circumstances, Hiruzen would never want to expose the existence of Root. But at this point, every second of delay in stopping these two summoned beasts would only increase Konoha's casualties!
In an instant, the two major forces of Konoha were fully mobilized, doing everything they could to deal with the two powerful summoned beasts.
But at that moment…
"Go." Li Jiexuan slapped the ground with one hand. A massive golden-winged roc burst forth and soared straight toward the Hokage's office, drawing countless astonished gazes along the way.
"Another one?"
Hiruzen's teeth were nearly grinding apart. Were these people running a zoo? How could there be so many powerful summoned beasts?
"But that one seems different from the other two." The White Fang of Konoha frowned thoughtfully, sensing something unusual.
"That's right. Those two are only focused on destruction, but this one seems to have a specific target!" Minato Namikaze tried using his still-immature Rasengan to disperse the poisonous mist.
"A target?" After a brief pause, Hiruzen suddenly shouted, "That direction is the Hokage residence? Damn it… the Sealing Scroll!?"
"Quick, head back!"
Only then did Hiruzen realize he had been tricked—and he was now completely certain: Orochimaru was definitely still alive!
Because long ago, Hiruzen had known that Orochimaru had his eyes on the Sealing Scroll. He had even secretly looked at it a few times and learned some forbidden techniques.
Unfortunately, it was already too late…
"Boom!"
Golden talons tore off the entire roof. Another claw seized the Sealing Scroll enshrined in the secret chamber. The ANBU who tried to stop it were pierced through the chest by the sharp beak and tossed into its mouth…
Watching all of this from afar, Hiruzen was nearly driven mad. But distance made rescue impossible—he could only watch as the golden-winged roc flew out of Konoha.
"Go after it! You must bring it back!"
That Sealing Scroll didn't just record the Second Hokage's forbidden techniques—it also contained bloodline-limit forbidden arts like Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence and Izanami. These were the very foundation of Konoha!
If it were to fall into the wrong hands, the consequences would be unimaginable!
But suddenly, all three summoned beasts vanished at once. The salamander, the giant snake, and the golden-winged roc all disappeared without a trace.
"They've canceled the summoning!" Hiruzen gritted his teeth. "Even if the summoning is undone, the Sealing Scroll can't just disappear. It must be hidden somewhere!"
"Search!"
"Search every place that roc passed through—dig three feet into the ground if you have to. Find the Sealing Scroll!"
Unfortunately, it would all be in vain…
"Little Jiexuan, so you're here?" A nurse hurried over and picked Li Jiexuan up, tucking him into bed. "Just now, some ninjas attacked the village. Luckily, it's been settled."
"What are you holding there?" The nurse looked curiously at the large scroll in Li Jiexuan's arms.
"This was a gift from someone…"
"Well, little Jiexuan really is loved by everyone!"
The nurse smiled and turned to leave. It was nothing unusual for Li Jiexuan to receive gifts—no matter how hard she thought, she would never guess…
That the scroll Li Jiexuan held in his arms was Konoha Village's greatest treasure:
The Sealing Scroll!
