Shiros and the family ate roasted chicken happily.
The mother spoke: "Shiros, you're fifteen years old; you're an adult."
Shiros understood the implication but didn't deny: "Hehe, I understand you, auntie, but I have to build my future and earn my livelihood without anyone, with my own arms."
The mother fell silent, feeling reassured, and her respect for Shiros increased as a boy striving for development.
Raoul spoke, patting Shiros on the shoulder: "Haha, since you're so wise, I'll increase your salary to fifty dirhams a month so you can strive with wider steps."
They finished lunch, and Cloud did not return to the inn. The next day, Raoul's shift began, which would last four days.
During Shiros's three work days and the remaining four, he didn't miss any opportunity; he glanced at the reception desk whenever possible, but found no Cloud.
Then a specific realization came to him: "Is Cloud placing a spell to prevent spying and surveillance on him? That's why I feel he's become as if nonexistent while I'm searching for him?"
Here it became clear that there was no hope in the warlock hunting operation, as Shiros called it.
So he decided to approach the second person who could teach him even a little sorcery: of course, the café guard.
He decided to leave the inn and head to that café again. It's no secret that he was accompanied by some tension because of what he had done before.
He opened the inn door but was surprised by the presence of the person he wanted—who else but that café guard.
"Hehe, great guard, welcome to our inn, where we offer the finest services and..."
"Shut up, boy. Why did you spread rumors that you're my son?"
"Oh, hehe, Cloud, I'm sorry. I just wanted to enter the café... As you know, it's a beautiful café."
Fortunately, Shiros was just a small teenager, so it was natural for others to tolerate him to a certain extent.
Cloud raised his hand slightly upward, making Shiros step back unconsciously. Then he placed his hand on the boy's head.
He was about to say something, but Shiros's scream interrupted him: "Aaaah, what is this? I feel my brain burning. Have mercy, aaaah."
Simply, actually and literally, Shiros's brain was burning until the smell of fire spread throughout the inn.
Shiros stopped screaming and fell to the ground.
Raoul was shocked by the event, placed his finger on a vein in Shiros's neck for seconds, then said: "Did you kill him?"
