Chapter 163 - Chapter 163: Quanxi

Chapter 163: Quanxi (Extra Chapter)

China, the Devil Church.

"The news about that school in Modu has already spread. The authorities' intention is clearly to push for the universalization of devil hunters. This is terrible news for us, so we must make them fail at any cost!"

"It's said that they've specifically dispatched an SSS-rank guy to hold down the fort this time, though he seems quite young. We need to strike fast and end it quickly, and ideally prevent Quanxi from rushing over to reinforce them. Even if it means sacrificing our lives to the devils we've contracted with, do not hesitate."

"That's right. All we need to do is slaughter as many of those brats participating in the special devil hunter program as possible. There's no need to target the other kids. That way, the rest of the students won't dare to take part in such things anymore, and the plan to universalize devil hunters will naturally fall through."

"In that case, let's launch a surprise raid early tomorrow morning so they won't even have time to react. Once we've killed enough, we can retreat. If necessary, offer up our lives for the devil lords!"

"..."

The Devil Church was currently the greatest and most formidable enemy within China, and its level of danger far exceeded that of ordinary devils.

Because the Devil Church colluded with devils and practiced a "devils supreme" ideology, they believed that humans were a thoroughly despicable species that should bow down and submit to devils.

The members of the Devil Church were all composed of people who had been completely brainwashed to a frantic and deranged degree.

They would capture innocent civilians and even children to offer as sacrifices to devils, and hoard pieces of the Gun Devil's flesh, using all sorts of crazy methods to strengthen the side of the devils.

And devil hunters were the greatest enemies of devils, so they certainly wouldn't want the universalization of devil hunters to develop.

To put it bluntly, they were just a bunch of extreme fanatics.

......

On the other side, the Modu Devil Hunter Association had already caught wind of the Devil Church's movements.

Chairman Jiang notified Otonashi Chiya at the earliest opportunity.

"You specifically called me over, so Chairman Jiang must have something important to discuss, right?"

Upon arriving at Chairman Jiang's study, Otonashi Chiya asked immediately.

"That's right, this matter is very important. Have you ever heard of the Devil Church?"

Chairman Jiang said with a serious expression.

Otonashi Chiya shook his head slightly. "Never heard of it, but I can roughly guess what kind of organization it is."

"Devil" + "Church"—you could easily tell what kind of composition it had just by thinking about it.

"Then you've probably guessed correctly. The Devil Church is the most troublesome enemy of our Devil Hunter Association..."

Following that, Chairman Jiang roughly explained the Devil Church to Otonashi Chiya.

The "certain troublesome fellows" he had mentioned to Otonashi Chiya previously referred to the members of the Devil Church.

"That group of maniacs who lack humanity and disregard human lives cannot be completely eradicated, and they've also caused our Devil Hunter Association no small amount of grief."

Chairman Jiang said with a somewhat bitter expression.

"I see, so have they been making any big moves recently?"

Otonashi Chiya guessed.

"Yes, they have strongholds in various regions, and recently they've secretly amassed a significant force, concentrated right here in our Modu."

Chairman Jiang said with a solemn tone, "However, I have a feeling their target isn't our Devil Hunter Association, but rather Modu's Qingfeng Middle School..."

Otonashi Chiya reacted quickly, "Is it because of our pilot program for devil hunters this time?"

"It should be. We anticipated this early on, which is also why we were so hopeful that you could hold down the fort at the school."

Chairman Jiang let out a slight sigh, "Even with you stationed there, the casualties caused by the Devil Church will likely still be severe. I really don't want the kids to get hurt by those lunatics."

As he had just mentioned, those were all maniacs who lacked humanity and disregarded human lives, even paying no heed to their own lives.

As is well known, making a contract with a devil usually doesn't allow one to use the devil's full power; wanting to use its full power requires offering up one's own life!

Ordinary devil hunters would never easily sacrifice their lives to a devil, but those lunatics in the Devil Church were different. They would likely not hesitate to sacrifice themselves right off the bat, making it extremely difficult for normal devil hunters to deal with a group of "buffed" maniacs.

If the Devil Church was dead set on launching suicide attacks, then harm coming to the children was practically unavoidable.

It was also impossible to simply give all the students a permanent holiday and keep them sheltered inside the Devil Hunter Association, as doing so would play right into the Devil Church's hands. Not only would their pilot program be ruined, but the Devil Church could also simply choose not to attack upon hearing the news, and the longer it dragged on, the more disadvantageous it would be for the Devil Hunter Association.

At most, they could only strengthen the defensive forces around Modu's Qingfeng Middle School as much as possible while avoiding causing panic within the school.

"I'll do my best to stop them and reduce the casualty rate to zero as much as possible."

Otonashi Chiya said with a calm expression.

It seemed that even the dangerous Devil Church mentioned by Chairman Jiang couldn't evoke the slightest sense of tension in him.

"I'm counting on you."

Chairman Jiang bowed solemnly.

Although he didn't dare to expect Otonashi Chiya to protect every single child, being able to lower the casualty rate as much as possible would already be wonderful.

"We plan to have the Special Countermeasures Squad led by Quanxi lie in wait near the school, so they can provide support to you all at the fastest speed. They should be arriving shortly."

Not long after Chairman Jiang finished speaking, the study door was pushed open directly.

Leading the newcomers was naturally Quanxi. Tall in stature, she wore a black lace eyepatch over her right eye, wore her silver hair in a short ponytail, and sported the uniform of the Modu Association, accompanied by her cold, handsome face and desireless gaze.

Tied to the back of her waist were three bagua sabers.

This person was precisely the oldest devil hunter in China and even the entire world, as well as the Crossbow Hybrid.

Behind Quanxi stood four fiend girls: Pingtsi, whom Otonashi Chiya had encountered before; a Dragon Fiend; the Cosmos Fiend, Cosmo; and an unnamed zombie-like girl whose entire body was covered in stitches.

The Dragon Fiend had a pair of red dragon horns growing on her head and possessed a tall build—the tallest among the four fiend girls—though her hands were inexplicably cuffed with handcuffs.

Cosmo was a very special Cosmos Fiend, with brain tissue resembling intestines visible on the right side of her head as if her brain was exposed, and her right eye had even popped out of its socket, with both pupils shaped like hearts.

The stitch-covered, zombie-like girl looked very sluggish, with empty, lifeless eyes and black irises.

"They've arrived, as expected. You can arrange whatever comes next amongst yourselves."

Chairman Jiang said to Otonashi Chiya.

"Pleasure working with you."

Otonashi Chiya knew that all these fellows before him, including Quanxi, were lesbians, so he simply gave a perfunctory greeting out of routine, his tone quite cold. Otherwise, even a slightly enthusiastic attitude might have earned him a cold shoulder from them.
