Chapter 128 - The Hell Devil

Chapter 126: The Hell Devil

Denji was also terrified by the horrifying display Kobeni had just put on, but oddly enough, she felt a profound sense of security. After all, several grown men had been taken down by Kobeni in the blink of an eye.

"Kobeni-sister...?" Denji called out cautiously, testing the waters.

Hearing Denji's small voice, Kobeni Higashiyama whipped her head around. She had calmed down rapidly. She gave Denji a faint smile, no longer wearing the sneering, morbid expression from a moment ago.

Seeing that Kobeni was as gentle toward her as always, Denji was instantly relieved and gave a joyful grin. "Kobeni-sister!"

Kobeni quickly pulled herself together. She dragged the unconscious thugs out of the room one by one, tossed them onto the street, closed the door, and double-locked it securely. Even if those thugs didn't bleed out, they would likely freeze to death. The Soviet Union was perennially cold; Chiya had specifically reminded them yesterday to bring thick clothing. It was a common occurrence for drunks to freeze to death on the streets, let alone men who were unconscious and bleeding. In the slums, no one would bother with them; people there were usually struggling just to survive themselves.

"Kobeni-sister, you're amazing! You protected me and Pochita and beat all those guys up!" Denji marveled. Her severe psychological trauma had been resurfacing, but she was so shocked by Kobeni's exaggerated performance and brutal methods that the trauma was pushed back into the depths of her mind once more.

"Haha..." Kobeni's smile was a bit strained. She didn't feel any joy from Denji's praise; instead, she felt a lingering fear toward her "other self" from moments ago. She certainly didn't have the heart to kill anyone else today. If something like this happened again, she would definitely call Otonashi-kun immediately.

Soon, Kobeni and Denji worked together to clean up the blood, shattered glass, and broken bottles. The metallic scent of blood was far too unsettling to leave behind.

Otonashi Chiya had no idea that far away in the Soviet Union, Kobeni had casually dispatched several thugs. At this moment, he was launching his offensive on the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

He had already equipped the "White Mask" skin—not just for the aesthetic, but to grant himself an extra 5 points of Vitality. Chiya now wore a white mask patterned with the Rinnegan. Unlike the tiger-stripe mask from the "Night of the Clan Slaughter," this mask allowed both of his eyes to be clearly visible.

His attire matched Obito's White Mask era: a high-collared, grey-black trench coat with a white belt fastened around his waist. A short blade was tucked into the back of his belt, and a long grey fabric strip trailed from the back of his mask. The short blade was merely an ordinary weapon; the system hadn't been generous enough to include the Uchiha War Fan with a 10-point skin.

Chiya suspected the fan would only appear once the System Shop reached at least Level 2. While the original principle of the Uchiha War Fan involved absorbing chakra and converting it into wind-natured counterattacks, the system might modify this logic for the Chainsaw Man world. He would have to wait for the shop upgrade to find out.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Ministers were monitoring Chiya and his group through a giant screen. When they saw a total of six Hybrids, they were collectively dumbfounded. They had expected Chiya to bring two or three helpers at most; they never dreamed he could "recruit" the entire Soviet Hybrid squad!

"Quick! Dispatch the sacrifice squads to intercept them! We absolutely cannot let them break in!!" the Prime Minister ordered in a state of extreme panic.

Upon receiving the order, the sacrifice squads immediately moved to intercept the intruders. However, the first line of defense fell to the security personnel. These ordinary men had no idea what a Hybrid was; they assumed the six figures were simply devils that resembled humans.

Though called "ordinary," they were actually devil hunters specifically trained by the Cabinet. Their duties differed from those of Public Safety; their sole job was to protect the Cabinet's high-ranking officials. Equipped with both firearms and devil powers, some provided long-range fire while others engaged with supernatural abilities.

However, bullets were useless against Hybrids. Reze and the others didn't even bother dodging, and the gunfire couldn't breach Shingetsu's absolute defense. Even their devil powers either missed or had no effect.

"What's wrong with these things? We can't stop them!"

"Stop them anyway! Even if you have to throw your lives away to do it!"

The security personnel were being slaughtered, dazed by the sheer power of these unprecedented Hybrids. In reality, any single Hybrid could have torn through them alone; having six appear simultaneously was overkill.

Reze and the other Hybrids crushed the security line with overwhelming force, leaving a trail of severed limbs and corpses. Just then, the sacrifice squads arrived.

"O, Hell Devil! We offer our lives! Please, send these people to Hell!"

The foremost members of the sacrifice squad spoke in unison, offering themselves without a moment's hesitation. As soon as the words were spoken, they drew their daggers and slit their own throats with expressionless faces.

In the next instant, a massive finger appeared out of thin air, sweeping across and obliterating their heads.

Then, a door appeared in the sky—the Door to Hell. A colossal hand, resembling a human palm and large enough to blot out the sun, reached out from the gateway. The giant six-fingered hand swiped down toward Otonashi Chiya and his group.

"The Hell Devil? I see. Interesting..."

With his Mangekyo Sharingan, Chiya could have easily used "Intangibility" to avoid being dragged into Hell, but he intentionally deactivated it, allowing the Hell Devil to take them. The Hell Devil's ability triggered lightning-fast; in a heartbeat, Chiya, Reze, and the others were gone.

[Ding! Host has activated the achievement 'First Descent to Hell.' Gained 10 Attribute Points!]

The event happened so suddenly that Shingetsu, Reze, and the other Hybrids were momentarily stunned. Only Chiya remained unfazed, for everything was under his control.

Reze was the first to react, her expression grim. "This is bad. We've been sent to the birthplace of all devils..."

Hell didn't look particularly special at first glance, but the sky was covered in countless Doors to Hell—a dense, terrifying sight that was nightmare fuel for anyone with trypophobia.

However, before the others could succumb to panic, Chiya pulled them all into the Kamui dimension and instantly transitioned them back to the human world. He had already left a "coordinate" in Hell—or more accurately, he didn't even need to leave one. Once he had visited a place, he could precisely transfer back at any time.

In other words, Hell had just become his personal backyard; he could come and go as he pleased. This was the exact reason he had allowed the Hell Devil to take him in the first place.
