"He won't be returning," I state flatly, staring through the window of Gideon's office as twilight paints the sky in deep purples. "When Hugo vanishes, he stays gone for extended periods."
"Archangels could be hunting you. The amount of power you unleashed was substantial," Ophelia points out to the room. "Perhaps remaining here another day would be wise."
"I can't even confirm if this place truly conceals me," I argue back, scanning the concerned expressions of Jill, Reyna, and Gideon.
"We cannot," Gideon acknowledges. "Yet you cannot deny this location offers greater protection."
"Hugo materialized here without warning," I continue, likely weakening my own argument. "He required no invitation or entry. The others possess identical capabilities."
