Nora's POV
Energy crackles between my fingers as I raise my hand toward the intruder. "Who the hell are you?" The woman standing in my home is striking - tall and lean with sharp features, dark eyes, and close-cropped black hair. Her outfit screams dangerous: black leather pants, stiletto boots, and a crimson crop top that shows off her toned midriff.
The stranger tilts her head, studying Renata with an expression I can't read. "Interesting," she muses. "I expected her to be larger at this stage."
The energy ball in my palm pulses brighter. "I asked you a question. Who are you and how did you get past my defenses?"
She notices the growing sphere of power and slowly raises both hands in surrender. "My name is Ema," she says quickly, placing a wicked-looking blade on the nearby desk. "Kevin spoke of me, didn't he?"
