Nora's POV
"I thought you said the demons were having an orgy," I say, blinking hard. I know I heard Hilary correctly, but this has to be some kind of sick joke.
"I did," Hilary confirms, moving closer to us.
James's palm settles against my lower back, his cool touch grounding me through my rising disbelief. "Demons took over the bodies of nursing home residents and threw themselves a party," Hilary states with such casual certainty that a burst of horrified laughter escapes me.
"Absolutely not," I laugh, shaking my head vigorously. "There's no way. Also, that's disgusting."
"Bit judgmental about age, aren't you?" Hilary folds her arms, and I keep shaking my head in denial. "Demons don't give a damn about their host body's condition," she explains. "Though elderly hosts burn out fast. Really fast."
