Chapter 2 - Soul-bound relic

Xu Qing stepped out of his room with a very calm expression on his face and he was met with three familiar boys.

They were the usual set of bullies who had always beat him up at the canteen. But after Xu Qing started skipping lunch, they could no longer find him so they came to make trouble in his home.

The thing is… Xu Qing's house had been isolated from normal settlement because it is believed that he had been the start of fame and also the start of downfall for their sect so…diviners had said that staying in the same place as him could cause more misfortunes… even breathing the same air with him is enough to start up something dangerous. That is why he had an entire space to himself– which he liked very much.

So these boys felt like no one would know that they had taken any actions at the rejected kid because…his home was already isolated to begin with. Plus no one would care what happens to him.

"Jin Hai, what should we do to him?" Kui Luo tapped his lip as he asked smugly and of course, they circled him like a prey.

"Should we beat him up? I think we should leave him crippled."

"Haha, Yao Gu I think I have something good for him. Let's take him to the abandoned inventory. Everyone knows the history about that place and how dangerous it is… he will have to suffer there. If he survives it, then he is lucky, if not, he should just die."

Kui Luo smirked and of course, Xu Qing did not remain so calm again knowing exactly what the inventory signifies.

There was a big history between an ancient God and the inventory…that god had wiped the ancestors of the Sky Beyond sect, decimated everything, killed the cattle and plundered their resources. However when he reaches the inventory, he dies there and now, there's a wild and powerful energy that stops anyone from entering. Anyone who successfully enters never makes it out…

Kui Luo knew that it would be difficult to force his way in so he set up coordinates for the inventory…as a teleportation array. After he activated the array, the three of them grabbed Xu Qing and forced him into the array and watched him vanish.

Xu Qing couldn't put up a fight. These two were in the universe realm while he was struggling not to drop to the realm of man.

Xu Qing could have simply just battled with them like any other cultivator would have done… as someone who had touched monstrous power as a Precelestial realm cultivator, even in the realm of man, he would be able to hold his own against a universe realm expert. The only problem there is that; his expenditure of vitality Qi.

And he did not have more to spare because he would immediately fall to the realm of man the moment he engages in a battle, which is why he refrained from it and allowed himself to be bullied every single time.

Today wasn't an exception.

Before he knew it, he was within the very same inventory that everyone is terrified of…this very inventory that he heard that anyone who enters never makes it back out.

Xu Qing shivered but he controlled his emotions, his eyes sharp, mind clear and face calm.

He slowly moved, careful not to make unnecessary noise. The inventory was looking so ancient, dilapidated and almost destroyed.

After checking around and not finding anything dangerous about the inventory, Xu Qing sighed and relaxed. Whatever dangerous energy from years ago must have dissipated a long time ago and even with that, no one dared to go there.

Xu Qing accessed the place, he grabbed a few valuables, throwing them into his cosmic ring. Then he brought out his spatial bracelet and activated the ability.

However, before he vanished he saw a strange sword lying on the mechanical table…his interest piqued immediately and he quickly slipped into the small opening between two huge pillars and he grabbed the sword by the hilt.

After he grabbed the sword, his spatial bracelet activated as Xu Qing vanished from the inventory to his room.

Xu Qing had already made up his mind to brave this journey and indeed he was not disappointed because of the many abandoned treasures he could obtain from the inventory.

If anything, he had to thank the bullies for helping him. His spatial bracelet is something he had obtained from the immemorial estuary and it would have helped in a helpless situation. His spatial bracelet has over ten active teleportation energy rings. If these ten are exhausted, one has to meet the requirements just to get one again. And Xu Qing did not know whether he would ever meet the requirements again.

Xu Qing looked around his room with no bed. He immediately sat on air, his feet folded against each other.

Without delay, he put away his spatial bracelet and grabbed the sword as he observed the intricate design on the silver and red blade surface.

In fact, the same ambience that the inventory had when he first stepped in… his room was slowly conforming to it… a dark, hazy and cloudy aura, almost like the sword had been a source of the dark energy in the inventory and now being transferred over to this side of his territory.

Xu Qing stood up and swung the sword and a wild energy seemed to cut the void apart, shocking Xu Qing at the amount of power the sword could unleash at a simple swing.

He gently tapped the silver and red blade surface and the next thing he realised is…the sword shattering at the soft touch of his finger.

His pupils shrank immediately.

Not just that, the remains from the shattered sword entered his soul and a terrifying power seemed to burn everything within him like his body was on fire. The pain, so unbearable that Xu Qing gritted his teeth and collapsed on the floor.

He forced himself not to make a sound and yet he couldn't stop the tears that rolled down his cheeks.

A few minutes after, his body was tempered and cooled… the broken sword was reformed, this time much more different.

Xu Qing blinked, realising how attached he suddenly was towards the sword.

'Wait…a soulbound relic.'

There are relics that are tied down to one's soul. Is the ancient god's sword categorized into this very class?

At that moment, Xu Qing felt many times lighter…in fact, he felt like he could absorb more vitality Qi from the universe, plus the strange energy that tried to suck him dry seemed to have vanished.
