Chapter 75 - Chapter 75

  Chapter 75 Obtaining the 'Obeliest'

Actually, Finney didn't know that he had acquired more than just the nickname 'Knight of Divine Punishment'; there were also all sorts of other nicknames, such as 'God's Messenger' and 'Son of Calamity.'

However, 'Knight of Divine Punishment' had a higher acceptance rate, and it seemed to have a following, making it the most popular online for a time.

After inwardly condemning those who gave him those nicknames, Finney distributed 'Violet Chicken Nuggets' and began his daily training.

The reason the battlefield was so devastating was ultimately because he wasn't strong enough. If he could use 'Mirror Dimension,' even if all the robots exploded, there probably wouldn't have been any casualties.

Unfortunately, this spell was arguably the most profound and obscure spell in Kamar-Taj besides the Time Arcane, involving the mysteries of dimensions, and Finney still had no clue about it.

After finishing his daily training, Finney thought for a moment and then went to find the Ancient One.

"Teacher, I heard Thor was banished by Odin, is that true?"

"Your information network is quite impressive!"

The Ancient One sipped her freshly brewed morning tea, speaking slowly, "He almost broke the peace treaty between Asgard and Jotunheim, so Odin wants him to come to Earth to hone his skills."

"So we're just going to ignore it?"

Finney couldn't help but ask, curious why the Ancient One seemed indifferent despite knowing about it.

"Then what do you plan to do?"

The Ancient One looked at Finney curiously, asking, "Do you have any ways to help him correct his personality?"

"How could I possibly have any?"

Finney replied sheepishly. In his heart, he felt Thor was just too arrogant; simply put, he was a brat who deserved a beating. His

invincible conquest of Asgard, almost unmatched among his peers, coupled with the influence of Odin's early experiences, led to a certain degree of misunderstanding about his own strength.

For this kind of muscle-bound brute, Finney felt the best solution was to be even more brute than him, beating him until he submitted.

Once he realized his weakness, everything would fall into place.

Odin's actions actually aligned with Finney's thinking: sealing Thor's divine power and casting him to Earth, a place neither particularly strong nor weak.

Then, to subject him to hardship and hunger… well, not to starve him, not to empty his body, not to disrupt his actions, in order to enhance his abilities.

Unfortunately, Odin was too indulgent; this small setback might have temporarily changed Thor, but it couldn't truly mature him.

From the original storyline, Thor's personality only truly began to mature with Hela's arrival, at the cost of almost losing everything.

Pulling his thoughts back, Finney stopped asking questions and instead inquired about the 'Mirror Dimension'.

He could give up the secret arts of the spirit realm, but he still coveted the ability of the 'Mirror Dimension'—one of the two goals he set for Kamar-Taj, and he was determined to achieve it.

Meanwhile, upon returning to S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury immediately contacted Coulson.

"Have you spotted any unusual individuals near the hammer?"

  "Nothing unusual so far, sir!"

Coulson asked into the phone, sensing something amiss in Nick Fury's tone.

"Have Barton keep an eye on the hammer. Report any unusual situations or individuals to me immediately." Nick didn't relay Finney's information to Coulson. First, he wasn't sure if the information was accurate, and misleading Coulson's judgment would be detrimental.

Then, using his directorial authority, he quickly located the item Finney needed: the silver 'obelisk'.

Looking at the information about this item in his hand, Nick Fury frowned deeply.

Although its purpose remains unknown, the sheer danger of the item itself is alarming—it could kill a normal person with a single touch!

Nick Fury hesitated. He didn't want to hand it over to Finney so quickly before knowing what Finney intended.

However, he also wanted to know about the hammer. Compared to the immediate threat, even if the item was dangerous, its activation would only occur if Finney used it.

Meanwhile, Nick unexpectedly discovered that his body hadn't reacted abnormally when he hesitated to give it to Finney.

  "Is there a distance limit?"

Nick's argumentative nature made him doubt himself. "Or is there a trigger condition?"

Nick also wondered if Finney was lying, but such a situation could easily lead to death, and even with his courage, he didn't want to gamble with his life.

Besides, the Ivan Vanko incident had planted a seed in his mind, but he was too busy to investigate.

Coupled with Finney's unpredictable intelligence gathering abilities today, Nick Fury couldn't help but suspect there was a mole within his ranks.

Nick Fury pondered for a long time in his office before finally deciding to hand the item over to Finney. Firstly, to gain Finney's favor, and secondly, because Hammer was currently in New Mexico, and if things were as Finney described, he needed to understand the situation as soon as possible.

Next, he retrieved all of Finney's files and examined them carefully, but no matter how he looked at them, Finney seemed like a normal, ordinary person.

  Several hours later,

Nick Fury rubbed his temples in frustration, ultimately giving up on finding a way to gain abilities from Finney's files.

  Early the next morning,

Nick Fury contacted Finney with the 'Obeliest.' This time, the meeting place wasn't Tony's villa, but a S.H.I.E.L.D. base.

With Finney's consent, Nick Fury brought Black Widow along; after being fired by Tony, she had returned to S.H.I.E.L.D.

"We meet again, Mr. Finney. I didn't expect the mysterious 'Silver Knight' to still be a student,"

Natasha greeted with a smile, looking at Finney in casual clothes.

When Nick Fury told her about Finney's identity on the way, he gave her a task: to gain Finney's favor as much as possible and gather intelligence.

Based on the existing information, she felt that the best way to quickly build a good relationship with Finney was to use an optimistic, cheerful, and lively personality.

Finney only glanced at Natasha's greeting, nodded, and didn't pay much attention.

As the saying goes, "unsolicited kindness is often suspicious," and Natasha's behavior seemed somewhat abnormal. She would probably have to be careful when meeting other girls in the future. She

might be one of Nick Fury's henchmen.

Although he couldn't reveal his identity, Nick Fury's abilities allowed him to arrange these things without revealing any information.

  "Did you bring the things?"

But it was too early to think about those things now; Finney was concerned about whether the 'obelisk' had arrived.

Nick placed a black box in front of Finney.

Finney opened the box and looked at the 'obelisk' inside. Since he didn't understand its workings, he didn't dare touch it carelessly.
