Chapter 65 - Chapter 64

Chapter 64 Unrivaled Grass-Cutting   The text messages continued, showing just how urgent the situation was.

Left with no other choice, Finney Hellseg pretended to be unwell and quickly asked for leave under the watchful eyes of the entire class. Once outside, he found a secluded corner and dialed Tony's number.

"I need your help with something!"

Tony's impatient voice came through the phone as soon as the call connected: "Outside Stark Tower, someone has remotely controlled nearly a thousand robots to surround the building..."

"Wait, how many did you say?"

Finney Hellseg was stunned. Nearly a thousand? In the original storyline, Hammer Industries had only manufactured about ten of each type of robot, totaling less than a hundred. How could it be almost a thousand now?!   "I estimate at least seven hundred!"

Tony's voice gradually calmed down: "If they start wreaking havoc, the entire United States will be thrown into chaos. If you have any solutions, use them quickly."

  "I..."

Finney Hellseg was speechless. Although these robots were certainly not as powerful as Tony's meticulously crafted, high-quality armor, seven or eight hundred was still a force to be reckoned with. Even ants can kill an elephant!   "I'll go check it out right away."

Finney Hellseg really couldn't ignore this situation. If New York were to disappear in an instant, the future would be completely out of control.

However, before heading to Stark Tower, Finney Hellseg went home first, leaving Skye in Kamar-Taj amidst her questioning gaze.

Only then did he equip 'Possessed' and open a portal to Stark Tower.

What greeted his eyes were rows of armed robots guarding the entrance, like security guards, which was why the surrounding crowd was curious and watching.

Finney Hellseg's appearance caused even more surprise and cheers from the crowd.

  "Look, the Silver Knight!"

  "It's him, he's appeared again!"

  "Wow, so cool!"

Although a long time had passed, that battle was Tony's debut, and coupled with his mysterious nature, many people still remembered him to this day.

Unwilling to be disturbed, Finney Hellseg reluctantly took to the air. Only then did he realize there were many more surrounding the building; no wonder Tony had estimated at least seven hundred.

"How the hell did they build these?!"

Finney Hellseg couldn't help but wonder. Less than two weeks had passed since Ivan was captured and disappeared. How could he have built so many robots in such a short time?!

Although they were ugly, their weapons were rudimentary, and even somewhat ridiculously simple, there were still seven or eight hundred!

Finney Hellseg fell into deep thought. Hammer Industries' capabilities were absolutely insufficient to achieve this; in fact, only one department on Earth possessed such ability.

  "Hydra!"

Besides Hydra, Finney Hellseg couldn't think of anyone else who could have helped Ivan create so many robots in such a short time. Only they had the resources and capability to achieve this.

Unfortunately, Finney Hellseg was unaware that Hydra was also in a state of fury.

  Hydra's secret base.

An old man with a wrinkled face glared angrily at the person in front of him, demanding, "You think this can be used to divert attention?"

The man in front of him stammered, "There were some unexpected circumstances. He left a hidden door in the program and took all the spare machines prepared for the organization."

"Are you a bunch of pigs?"

The old man was so angry he wanted to shoot the man in front of him, but he knew it would be futile. He could only angrily order, "Destroy all records. Leave no trace. Abandon that base completely."

His subordinate trembled slightly. That base was no small place; after all, it was remarkable that so many robots could be built in such a short time.

"Activate the self-destruct program on those robots. We can't let him continue like this."      The old man continued giving orders, but unfortunately, he didn't see the even greater panic on his subordinate's face as he uttered the command.

"He...he...is the one who modified the program's backdoor. Now the robots are uncontrollable, and the base is temporarily completely sealed off."

  "Slap!"

The old man couldn't resist slapping his subordinate. He decided to transfer the guy to a pig farm when he got back, so he'd learn how pigs work.

  ...

Although Finney Hellseg was notified by Tony, he traveled via a portal, so he arrived before Tony. Looking at the motionless robots, he didn't make any rash moves, wondering what Ivan was planning.

Inside and outside the building, Pepper, having received Tony's notification, quickly began organizing the evacuation. However, due to the large number of people and the New Yorkers' characteristic recklessness, progress was slow. Despite this, Ivan remained unmoved, showing no intention of taking action.

In fact, Finney Hellseg didn't know that it wasn't that Ivan didn't want to act, but rather that he was temporarily unable to; the main program server controlling the robots was at the Hydra base.

Unable to issue complex commands in real time, the activation command he set before leaving the Hydra base was to target Tony. Only upon seeing Tony would the robots begin to move.

The main reason for this was to make his enemy witness his everything being destroyed.

The Mark 6 was Tony's latest suit of armor designed for the new element; it was more powerful, stronger, and faster.

Before Finney Hellseg could wait long, a figure streaked across the sky and landed beside him.

Before either of them could speak, the previously motionless robots turned their heads towards Tony, their crimson electronic eyes scanning something, then instantly raised all their weapons, aiming at the two of them.

  Or rather, at Tony Stark.

Finney Hellseg was startled, but quickly realized that the robots' actions were definitely due to Tony's arrival.

  "Is there a plan?"

Finney Hellseg asked Tony without hesitation.

Tony remained silent; having rushed here, he hadn't thought much about it.

Seeing this, Finney Hellseg lost hope in Tony. Thinking of that possibility, he immediately said, "Find a way to gather them together as much as possible!"

"You plan to teleport them away?"

"I plan to just kill them!"

Finney Hellseg replied irritably, his expression gradually becoming serious. Fortunately, his strength had improved rapidly recently; before, he really wouldn't have had any way to deal with it.

Tony didn't know what Finney Hellseg wanted to do, but having no other choice, he could only obey for the time being. He immediately flew into the air, wanting to test the robots' reaction and find Ivan Vanko's location.

As Tony took off, the robots also moved. Those flying in the air chased after Tony, a large, dark mass that looked quite impressive.

Those on the ground set up their weapons and began firing.

The continuous sound of bullets terrified the people evacuating the building. Inexperienced in such situations, many were too frightened to move.

Seeing this, Finney Hellseg could only land first, intending to help deal with the robots on the ground.

Faced with these shoddy, mass-produced products that sacrificed quality for quantity, Finney Hellseg basically took them down one by one, none lasting more than two blows. The scene was like mowing down enemies in a video game in superhuman mode, leaving the terrified crowd nearly dumbfounded!
