Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

After finishing everything, Finney Hellseg looked at the avalanche below, thinking that if Obadiah still escaped this way, he would accept it.

Although it was too rushed and his thoughts couldn't be focused, the effect of the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' didn't seem to last long, but it should be enough for the snow to bury Obadiah.

The frantic stuffing of 'Violet Chicken Wraps' into the Iron Monger wasn't to prevent him from going hungry, but to restrict Obadiah's movements. Even Tony finding it difficult to remove his armor was a challenge, let alone the technologically inferior Obadiah.

If he dared to open his visor after entering the avalanche, it would be filled with snow; even if he didn't open it, the visor filled with chicken wraps would still make breathing and movement difficult and unbearable.

  "What did you just do?"

Tony asked, suspended beneath Finney Hellseg. He had been low on energy and focused on controlling flight, so he hadn't noticed what Finney had done.

Finney Hellseg, gazing at the massive avalanche and marveling at the power of nature, casually replied to Tony's question, "Nothing, just bought him some chicken wraps."

  "Huh!?"

Tony looked stunned, seemingly not understanding. He had actually thought Finney Hellseg had some way to stop Obadiah.

  "Do you think he'll survive?"

Several minutes later, Finney Hellseg suddenly asked. The massive avalanche continued, and given his actions, Obadiah was unlikely to survive—meaning he had just killed someone.

  "..."

Tony remained silent. Deep down, he probably still hoped Obadiah would survive, but he knew the chances were slim. Although he didn't know what Finney Hellseg had ultimately done, it wasn't a futile effort.

"I'll handle this, but before that, could you find a place to put me down?"

Due to lack of energy, Tony could no longer maintain flight and was currently being held in mid-air by Finney Hellseg's hands. Ads by PubRevAds by PubRev

  "Alright!"

Finney Hellseg was too lazy to stay any longer. After putting Tony down, he opened the portal. The battle was essentially over shortly after Obadiah was buried by the avalanche, and he had gained more experience than he had expected.

Back in Tony's workshop, both were exhausted. Finney Hellseg immediately deactivated his abilities, much to Tony's envy, as he needed machine assistance to remove the Mark II.

After Tony removed his armor, Finney Hellseg also planned to leave. However, before leaving, he thought about the reporters. This time, without S.H.I.E.L.D.'s involvement, he was curious about how things would develop and couldn't help but ask,   "Have you thought about your explanation for tomorrow?"

"Explanation?" Tony was taken aback, then realized, "You mean those reporters?"

"I just checked, the internet is full of reports about you, I can't even delete them all."

In this information age, S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't omnipotent. If it hadn't spread initially, he could have controlled it, but now that the news had spread, it was difficult to control.

Upon hearing this, Tony immediately said to Jarvis, "Jarvis, broadcast tonight's report."

  "Yes, sir!"

"At approximately 8:40 PM tonight, a massive explosion occurred at the Arc Reactor project site owned by Stark Industries. Our reporter risked his life to film the following footage."

The television broadcast showed the fight between Tony and Obadiah, but he was hiding to the side, and his shots were limited. The video's clarity was almost movie-like; a first-time viewer might mistake it for a movie trailer.

"Although Tony Stark recently announced the closure of his weapons division, several pieces of evidence indicate that they are still selling weapons. Could this be another new weapon they are developing? It seems they..." "

  Regarding Tony Stark..."

"This isn't a movie trailer, nor is it special effects. Stark is definitely plotting something in the shadows. I urge a thorough investigation into them, a..."

On television, online, and even in bars and on the streets, people were discussing this matter everywhere.

"We'll see," Tony said with an indifferent expression, revealing no hint of his true thoughts. He was currently more concerned about Pepper Potts and Obadiah.

"By the way, if you can come over again tomorrow, we'll check again."

Whether Obadiah is alive or dead, Tony can't just abandon him, but flying there in his armor tomorrow is less convenient than having Finney Hellseg open a portal.

  "Okay."

Finney Hellseg nodded in agreement; one should see things through.

If Obadiah has indeed survived and escaped, he needs to guard against this hidden enemy; if he dies, he bears some responsibility, and helping with the aftermath is only right.

  "Then I'll head back now."

As Finney Hellseg said goodbye to Tony, elsewhere, a certain bald man was throwing a tantrum.

  S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, the Tri-Wing building.

"I want to know who they are? Where are they now? Tell me, Agent Coulson, what's your investigation? Do I have to wait until the whole nation knows before I find out?"

  "I'm very sorry, sir!"

Coulson apologized, looking like a wronged child, as the one-eyed bald man in front of him was practically spitting on his face.

"I suspect one of them is Tony Stark. Based on the video's behavioral analysis, the other seems to be a familiar enemy. As for the third, I currently have no information on him, sir!"

  "Then go find him!"

Nick Fury, his only remaining eye glaring, was as black as a hard-boiled egg.

After Coulson left, Nick Fury in the office reopened the video and watched it intently, not even blinking. When he saw Finney Hellseg open the portal and leave with the three of them, he finally couldn't help but frown deeply.

  "Who exactly are you?"

Nick tapped his fingers on the table, his single eye filled with a cautious expression. Although the fight between Tony and Obadiah was intense, in his opinion, it was far less dangerous than Finney Hellseg's final attack.

Meanwhile, Coulson, who had been severely reprimanded by his superior, was racking his brains for a solution. Directly questioning Tony was obviously impossible, so he had to take a roundabout approach. Thinking this, Coulson opened his phone and found a number.

"Hello, Ms. Potts, this is Agent Phil Coulson. Do you have a moment? I'd like to ask you about something."

  ...

Back home, after washing up, Finney Hellseg lay in bed thinking about everything that had happened that day. He might have killed someone, but surprisingly, he didn't feel much about it.

No fear, no unease, and not much guilt. Maybe it was because he didn't know Obadiah well, and besides, Obadiah was too wicked!?

Finney Hellseg didn't know. He hadn't had much contact with Obadiah, hadn't even spoken a word to him, but that didn't stop him from knowing the other was a bad person.

Perhaps that was why he didn't mind!?   Finney Hellseg chuckled, shaking his head. Ever since he knew this world was the Marvel universe, he'd thought about killing people or aliens.

Although he thought he'd eventually adapt, he hadn't expected it to pass so uneventfully. Anyway, it was a good thing; there was no need to be sentimental over a bad guy.

Putting these thoughts out of his mind, Finney Hellseg began to analyze today's gains, the most important lesson learned.
