Chapter 6 - Awakening at Two and a Half — Is This Kid a Monster?

[Conversation Target: Uchiha Fugaku]

[Analyzing Copyable Traits…]

Two large system prompts hovered before his eyes.

Uchiha Kai blinked, realization dawning.

Traits from the dead had to be obtained by touch.

But traits from the living… required communication?

He nodded to himself and continued chatting idly with Uchiha Fugaku, pulling the conversation this way and that.

Soon, the first trait slowly surfaced.

A refined blue halo shimmered gently.

[High-Quality Trait: Clan Leader's Authority (Blue) — Increases persuasion by 30% during clan discussions.]

Clan Leader's Authority?

Kai shook his head and immediately looked further down.

This thing was useless to him.

What—was he supposed to raise a banner in a tavern and overthrow Konoha?

…Wait.

Actually.

That didn't sound completely impossible.

His small eyes blinked.

The more he thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed.

From today onward, call him Uchiha Revolutionary.

As the conversation deepened, more traits appeared one after another.

[Fire Release Mastery (Blue), Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Jutsu (Green), Sharingan (Blue), Malice Perception (Green), Mangekyō Sharingan (Purple), Glimpse of Fate (Gold)…]

Glimpse of Fate?

Gold-tier?!

Kai's voice jumped several pitches as he spoke, excitement barely contained.

"This… should be Fugaku's Mangekyō ability, right?"

He took a deep breath, awe creeping into his tone.

"As expected… it's related to fate."

He'd suspected it long ago, but seeing it with his own eyes was still shocking.

Once again, he couldn't help but marvel—

The Uchiha clan truly were the chosen ones of the era.

These eyes were absurdly broken.

If the so-called protagonist didn't cheat, beating that second pillar would be nearly impossible.

[Conversation with Uchiha Fugaku has exceeded ten minutes. Attempting to copy trait…]

[Copy successful. Congratulations, host has obtained High-Quality Trait: Sharingan (Blue).]

[Sharingan (Blue): Grants exceptional perception. Allows observation of chakra flow, casting and dispelling genjutsu, and copying taijutsu and non–bloodline ninjutsu.]

It copied?!

Kai was stunned.

This was just a test—and he'd actually copied the Sharingan from his own father.

Even if the Sharingan was common within the clan, he was only two and a half years old!

A surge of joy burst from within.

His brain, overstimulated, flooded with dopamine.

And then—

He covered his eyes and couldn't help but burst into laughter again.

"Hahahahaha!"

Fugaku, standing beside him: ...

He stared blankly, worry creeping into his expression.

"This is bad… did that falling beam knock his head loose?"

"If Mikoto finds out, then—hm?!"

Just as he was wondering how to explain this to his wife, something flickered at the edge of his vision.

He spun around and looked straight at his second son.

His gaze locked onto Kai's eyes.

Even as the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku's breathing quickened.

"Red?"

"His eyes are bloodshot… he must've hit his head!"

Panic flared.

But then—when he noticed the tomoe within those crimson eyes—a thought struck him like lightning.

His flustered movements froze instantly.

"No… no, that's not bloodshot."

"That's… awakening!"

He looked down at his son, who had finally stopped laughing.

His gaze was filled with emotions far too complex to name.

Shock. Pride. Disbelief.

His two-and-a-half-year-old son had awakened the Sharingan?!

This was abnormal.

Utterly abnormal.

Historically, the youngest Uchiha to awaken the Sharingan did so around age ten—after surviving life-and-death trauma.

Even his genius eldest son—

Itachi, hailed as the hope of the Uchiha clan at just five years old—

Had shown no sign of awakening yet.

And yet—

Here.

Right in front of him.

Just because he, as a father, had responded half-heartedly—

This second son of his laughed.

And after laughing… awakened the Sharingan?

That was it.

This child wasn't just emotionally intense—he deeply valued familial bonds.

And he, Fugaku, had neglected that bond far too often because of clan affairs.

Neglected Kai's feelings.

The moment Kai felt slighted, his emotions surged—and the Sharingan awakened.

Guilt flooded Fugaku's eyes.

Softly, he said, "I'm sorry, Kai… Father has neglected you."

He made a silent vow to care more for this child in the future.

Then he added seriously, "But this—your awakening—no one else can know. Understand?"

"And also—"

Kai: ???

Why had the clan head suddenly become so long-winded?

The joy of awakening faded, replaced by confusion.

Kai lowered his head and stared at his hands, muttering inwardly.

"Three times…"

From transmigrating until now—less than a single day—he'd burst into maniacal laughter three times already.

That wasn't normal.

"Don't tell me… there's really a 'laugh maniac' gene in the Uchiha bloodline?"

He sucked in a cold breath and resolved to stay calm from now on.

Then he waved casually at Fugaku.

"Goodnight, old—old Father. I'm going to sleep."

Before Fugaku could react, Kai pushed him straight out.

Bang.

Door closed.

Bed—well, floor.

Sleep.

Outside the door.

Fugaku's guilty expression froze.

His face twisted into something far more complicated.

There was even a hint of grievance.

"Wait… so he dragged me here just to awaken his eyes?"

"Awakened them… and then tossed me out?"

He suddenly felt like one of those women from the red-light district—

Used and discarded.

After a long moment, he sighed and turned toward the adjacent room.

"At least there's Mikoto… and Itachi."

"Those two will definitely love me as a father."

With that, he walked into Uchiha Mikoto's room.

Inside, the steady breathing of one adult and one child could be heard.

Happiness, made tangible.

...

The next morning.

Splash.

"Training with Shisui today. Can't be late."

Itachi slid open his bedroom door, ready to head out.

"Ah!"

He jumped in shock the instant the door opened.

A large face was staring straight at him.

When he realized it was his little brother's soft, tender face, he finally relaxed.

There were only two reasons Kai woke up this early.

Either he needed the bathroom—

Or the kitchen.

Thinking that, Itachi's gaze softened further.

"Did you wake up hungry, Kai?"

"What do you want to eat? Big brother's about to make breakfast."
