"Lin Fei, want to feel how solid this training ground is?"
Weiwei placed one hand on her hip, stepped forward, and under the lights revealed her tall, well-proportioned figure.
"Oh?"
Catching the look in Weiwei's eyes, Lin Fei raised an eyebrow slightly.
When she'd wanted to race him before, she'd used the exact same tone.
The corner of his mouth curled up faintly, a hint of teasing in his gaze.
"Before this, Weiwei, didn't you say something like that too?"
"But in the end…"
"Th-this time is different!"
Weiwei's face flushed slightly as she retorted.
Last time, when she'd raced Lin Fei's Phantom-Scale Flash, she'd only lost because she hadn't known it wasn't an ordinary motorcycle.
That result had left her a little unconvinced.
Though… sitting behind Lin Fei afterward, the riding experience really had been amazing—comfortable and exhilarating.
"Aren't you just trying to get your pride back because you lost last time?" Lin Fei said with a grin.
"I—I'm just a bit curious about your real strength," Weiwei replied, her eyes drifting aside, clearly having her thoughts exposed.
Then, as if to cover it up, she straightened her neck slightly and shot Lin Fei a challenging look.
"Or what—Lin Fei, don't tell me you're scared?"
"Scared?" Lin Fei laughed. "That word exists in the dictionary, sure—but not in mine."
He walked toward her.
"Perfect timing. Dinner wasn't that long ago anyway—let's call this some post-meal exercise."
"Sounds like you're pretty confident."
"Let's make this clear first—I'm not Liu Chuang, that half-baked brute who just awakened his genes."
Weiwei's pride was unmistakable.
She'd joined the military young, undergone rigorous training, and in the barracks had practically no equal.
She was proficient with nearly every weapon and piece of equipment.
And she'd awakened her genes early; with Supergod Academy's resources, she was already a second-generation Super Soldier.
Liu Chuang had only just awakened—aside from raw strength and thick skin, he was basically just a super-powered brawler.
He wasn't comparable to her at all.
"Heh, youth really is something," Duka'ao chuckled as he watched the two walk toward the center of the training ground.
"If that's the case, Lin Fei, Weiwei—you can both go all out. Any damage here will be covered by Supergod Academy."
He was genuinely pleased.
His daughter was finally doing something useful for once.
More importantly, he'd long wanted to know just how strong Lin Fei truly was.
He simply hadn't had the chance—or the excuse—to test him.
Now that Weiwei had taken the initiative and Lin Fei had accepted, this was the perfect opportunity.
Of course, he added,
"Since this is just sparring, stop short of serious injury."
"Don't worry," Lin Fei said casually. "I'm usually pretty gentle with women."
Unless it was someone like Morgana.
"Hmph! Just hope you don't cry out in pain later," Weiwei snorted, feeling slightly underestimated.
She immediately assumed a combat stance.
"Come on, Weiwei," Lin Fei raised his arms, clenched his fists, and adopted a fighting posture as well.
Though he didn't use any formal opening stance, that didn't affect him in the slightest.
At the very least, it was basic respect.
"Hah!"
Weiwei shouted softly as her figure blurred into a black shadow, rushing straight at Lin Fei.
A sweeping whip kick lashed out.
Lin Fei didn't move his feet—he merely leaned his upper body back slightly, letting the attack pass harmlessly by.
Weiwei adjusted her center of gravity instantly and followed up with another kick.
Lin Fei dodged again, then reached out and caught her ankle as it brushed past him.
With a sharp twist of his wrist, he hurled her away.
Weiwei spun midair, landed, and staggered back several steps before stopping.
A trace of surprise flickered in her eyes.
From watching Lin Fei fight Liu Chuang, she'd known his combat skills were strong.
She'd even been mentally prepared.
But she hadn't expected that in close combat, she wouldn't even be able to touch him before being thrown aside.
Still—
That was just a bit of surprise.
The earlier exchange was nothing more than a warm-up.
She hadn't used wormhole transport yet, nor her specialty—weapon attacks.
"Not bad, Lin Fei," Weiwei said calmly.
"But now I'm getting serious."
Spatial ripples spread out.
A dark alloy dagger dropped into her hand.
She flipped it into a reverse grip.
"Need a weapon? I can get you one too."
"No need for now," Lin Fei waved his hand lightly. "You just focus on attacking."
Even if she gave him one, he wouldn't know how to use it.
Huo Linfei's combat style never relied on weapons.
In fact, nearly all Super Beast Warriors in the original story fought barehanded.
"In that case, be careful."
Weiwei nodded and hurled the dagger like a throwing knife.
At the same time, her tall figure vanished from the training ground.
Lin Fei smiled confidently.
He caught the dagger between two fingers, stopping it dead in its tracks.
Without turning his head, he stretched his other hand back—
Pa!
He caught Weiwei's punch cleanly.
Just as he was about to counter, he felt his palm suddenly empty.
A black shadow surged forward.
Weiwei had used wormhole transport to break free and reappear right in front of him, launching a kick.
Lin Fei leaned back again—
This time far more deeply, his body nearly parallel to the ground.
"So fast!" Weiwei's heart jolted as a powerful sense of danger surged up.
With no time to teleport again, she instinctively crossed her arms.
A tremendous force slammed into her, sending her flying.
Her arms went numb with pain.
She dropped to one knee, slapped her palm on the ground—
In an instant, blades and cold weapons shot toward Lin Fei from all directions.
Lin Fei moved like a swimming dragon, slipping through them by the narrowest margins.
From time to time, he struck with fists or kicks, smashing weapons out of the air.
Those that were hit shattered instantly.
Not a single weapon could even brush the hem of his clothes.
Duka'ao watched in stunned silence.
From Lin Fei's fight with Liu Chuang, he'd already had a rough idea of Lin Fei's strength.
But he knew Weiwei's capabilities far better.
Just as she'd said—
Liu Chuang, lacking systematic training, couldn't compare to her.
Yet now—
Even after Weiwei used her most proficient wormhole transport and weapon attacks, she still couldn't get close to Lin Fei.
Just how strong was Lin Fei?!
