Chapter 14 - Qiangwei’s Heart Skips a Beat

"Illusion Scale—!"

Lin Fei raised his left hand. The Illusion Scale ability bracelet on his wrist suddenly burst open with a surge of red energy.

"Flash summon!"

Vrrr—vrrr—vrrr!

The roar of a powerful engine echoed through the street.

From the distance, everyone could see an unmanned motorcycle racing toward them at extreme speed.

As it passed over a pothole in the road, the motorcycle launched straight into the air.

Suspended midair, under the glow of streetlights and moonlight, its body revealed smooth, sleek lines brimming with a handsome, streamlined aura.

Especially the front.

It was actually shaped like the head of a dragon.

The entire bike was crimson red. Beneath the dragon head, a pair of sapphire-like blue crystal eyes glinted, flashing a sharp, dazzling light under the illumination.

Under the stunned gazes of the girls, the Illusion Scale Flash descended from the air, passed over several people, and landed steadily on the ground. With a smooth spin, it adjusted its direction.

It sped forward, stopping right in front of Lin Fei and the girls, sparks flickering faintly.

"N-no one's riding it… a motorcycle?!"

Su Xiaoli's small mouth fell open slightly.

"So awesome…"

Even Rui Mengmeng was stunned by the earlier scene of the motorcycle soaring through the air.

An ordinary, poor girl living a dull life—where would she ever have seen something like this?

She couldn't help murmuring:

"So handsome!"

Qiangwei's reaction was the most intense.

Even though she was no longer a rebellious punk girl after joining the army, there was still a trace of defiance deep in her heart.

She had always loved riding cool motorcycles, enjoying the exhilaration of racing through the wind.

She had seen many expensive, exquisitely crafted bikes before.

But she had never seen one that combined such overwhelming dominance with sheer handsomeness.

Especially the imposing dragon-scale head at the front, along with the unusually low center of gravity. The front and rear wheels weren't aligned parallel to the body like ordinary motorcycles, but were positioned fore and aft with a slight height offset.

It made Qiangwei's heart race uncontrollably!

Su Xiaoli snapped back to her senses and looked at Lin Fei with shining eyes.

"A-Fei, this… this is?!"

"Heh heh, this right here is the Illusion Scale Flash!"

Lin Fei patted the handlebar, then proudly pointed his thumb at himself.

"My exclusive ride!"

"How about it, cool right?"

"Way too cool!"

Su Xiaoli's face was full of excitement.

"A-Fei, are you going to take me home on this?"

"Of course."

Lin Fei folded his arms, clearly enjoying the attention from the girls.

Off to the side, Ajie—who had been completely ignored—was wearing a shocked expression.

Because at the very moment Lin Fei summoned the Illusion Scale Flash, Ajie received another encrypted message from Dukao.

The message asked what had happened.

Drone No. 3 had just detected a powerful energy surge here—still an unknown type of energy.

Was Lin Fei responsible?

It was worth mentioning that after Dukao finished communicating with Lin Fei, he immediately canceled Drone No. 3's surveillance of him.

"General… Lin Fei doesn't seem to know what happened. He just summoned a motorcycle…"

"It's the Illusion Scale Flash!"

Ajie whispered.

But Lin Fei still heard him and cut in:

"Huh…?"

"What is it?"

Dukao sounded puzzled.

What motorcycle? What Illusion Scale Flash?

"Ajie, weren't you supposed to take Lin Fei to the Super Seminary?"

"Why did he suddenly make something like… an Illusion Scale Flash?"

"He said he'd go by himself, and Qiangwei was heading back too, so she could show him the way," Ajie replied.

Dukao wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Earlier, he had joked that Lin Fei was only missing a motorcycle to go full ghost rider—and now he'd actually produced one.

His own daughter wasn't really about to be led astray by this red-haired brat, was she?

The more he thought about it, the less calm he felt.

"Qiangwei."

"Hm? Old Du?"

While still admiring the Illusion Scale Flash, Qiangwei received Dukao's encrypted call.

"Qiangwei, you're not young anymore… be a bit more careful. Have some restraint like a proper girl."

"Huh? Old Du, what are you talking about?"

"I mean… when you're getting along with Lin Fei, pay a bit more attention…"

"Oh, that?"

"I thought it was something serious."

"Alright, alright, I got it."

Qiangwei had thought Dukao was calling about something important.

Turns out he was just reminding her about her interactions with Lin Fei.

What problem could there be between them?

Didn't he already have Drone No. 3 watching them and Ajie snooping around? Hadn't he seen how well she and Lin Fei got along?

How strange.

"Alright then, I'll hang up."

After saying that, Qiangwei decisively ended the call.

She still wanted to keep admiring the Illusion Scale Flash.

This single action made Dukao—who was preparing to board a dedicated helicopter on the Juxia—nearly twitch an eye.

"General, are you okay?"

The pilot couldn't help asking.

"…I'm fine. Prepare for takeoff."

Sitting in his seat, Dukao rubbed his temples with a headache.

Qiangwei should know her limits… right?

On the other side—

Lin Fei was also ready to depart.

"Come on, Xiaoli, hop on."

The Illusion Scale Flash had a low center of gravity, but Lin Fei still helped Su Xiaoli sit down first.

Then he mounted it himself.

One hand gripped the handlebar, one foot on the footpeg, the other on the ground.

The motorcycle leaned slightly to one side.

He looked at Qiangwei.

"Qiangwei, I'll take Xiaoli home first. Want to wait for me somewhere, or…?"

"I'm not in a rush anyway. I'll just go with you."

Qiangwei placed one hand on her hip and strode over on her long legs.

Space rippled slightly.

A wine-red, clearly modified motorcycle appeared in front of her.

With practiced ease, she swung her leg over and mounted it.

"Alright then."

Lin Fei nodded and waved to Rui Mengmeng nearby.

"Mengmeng, we're heading off first."

"Ah… okay, bye."

Rui Mengmeng waved back.

"Xiaoli, hold tight!"

Lin Fei said to Su Xiaoli behind him.

The Illusion Scale Flash let out a deep engine roar. Flames shot out from the exhaust pipe beside the rear wheel.

Feeling the pressure and warmth against his back, Lin Fei twisted the throttle.

"Let's go!"

The spinning wheels kicked up faint smoke as the Illusion Scale Flash shot forward.

Qiangwei revved her engine and followed closely behind.

Watching their figures disappear into the distance, Rui Mengmeng was still a bit dazed.

Suddenly, she remembered there was still someone here.

Her eyes met Ajie's.

"!"

Although she had just learned that this suspicious man in black with sunglasses wasn't from the Triads and seemed to be an official, first impressions mattered—and Ajie's outfit really didn't look normal.

So Rui Mengmeng was still a little afraid of him and didn't want to interact much.

On top of that, she suddenly realized she was still on the clock and had been out for quite a while.

So she hurriedly turned her head and ran back into the shop.

Ajie, who had just raised his hand to wave goodbye, froze with his hand suspended midair.

He stood there in silence for a long time, questioning his life.

After that, he drove back to the Super Seminary to check on Liu Chuang's condition at the specialized hospital within the academy.
