There is a house.
Now I am inside that house.
Wooden floorboards, I see my shadow on them, why is it so large? It is even reflecting off the walls, the ceiling... Am I really that large? Looking down at myself, I see a familiar size, but it is not the one mirrored in darkness.
My feet are moving, I am exploring now, this house... it has no doors. All the windows are shut. Wait, no, they are sealed. None of them have locks, they are... unopenable.
I speak in response, an instinctual response. The words, they are supposed to mean nothing.
"Weird..."
"Weird..."
"WEIRD..."
"WEIRD!!"
I flinch, my voice? it is echoing?
I said one word, why am I yelling?
My shadow is also smaller now.
The walls... did they shrink too? Did I do that? I try to speak again, this time my words are supposed to have meaning.
"wait."
It's a whisper, and the echoing yells are louder than before. Different words now, all my voice, all shouts, all meaning nothing.
I'm running.
I see familiar figures, a woman, and a child.
Their faces are blurred.
They are speaking too, but there is no sound.
Suddenly the house is quiet, so quiet... I can almost hear them. The silence, it's causing everything to come back? I stay silent, I want- no, I need to hear them. What are they saying?
Before it all comes back though,
I flinch again,
we all flinch.
Something is coming, behind me.
I motion for them to run, they listen. When they are gone, safe... I feel whatever it is catch up to me. I try to turn around to face it, but I am too scared. Body not responding, okay, no need, there is a mirror down the hall.
After running forever, I reach the end of the hall, hands desperately clasping the frame of the mirror on the wall. Finally, peering in the reflection, I lift my head-
I flinch again.
