Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Graaaah!" "Thwack!"

A massive, one-eyed Cyclops went on a rampage in the middle of a downtown highway after emerging from a portal. Its giant hands swept through cars like they were toys. The creature let out a deafening roar that shattered the windows of nearby skyscrapers. Its footsteps shook the earth, and it didn't care what—or who—was in its path. It was easily the size of a five-story building. Its single eye scanned the chaos, watching the crowds of people fleeing in a blind panic.

People scrambled in every direction, their screams filling the air. "Thud." A small child tripped in the middle of the street, separated from his mother. He sat there crying out for her. The mother spun around, her eyes locking onto her son. He was still on the pavement, sobbing loudly as the crowd surged past him. She saw the Cyclops closing in. Without a second thought, she sprinted toward him, fighting against the current of panicked people and screaming her son's name.

The mother finally reached him and pulled him into a hug, but as she tried to move, a massive shadow swallowed them both. She looked up and saw the Cyclops standing right over them, its single eye fixed on her and her child, drool dripping from its open maw. She squeezed her son tight and closed her eyes, waiting for the end. There was nowhere left to run.

The Cyclops leaned down, reaching out a hand to snatch them up. But as its fingers neared:

"Boom!"

A young man with a buzz cut and a muscular build suddenly appeared. His forearms were covered in dragon scales that looked like biological armor. He caught the Cyclops' hand with a single arm, looking completely relaxed. He looked at the monster with a smirk, his eyes glowing entirely red like a demon's.

"Thwack!"

Before the Cyclops could even react, another young man—clad in black knight's armor and a helmet—shot through the air. He delivered a brutal uppercut to the giant's chin. The force of the punch snapped the monster's head back, sending it stumbling into the buildings behind it while clutching its face.

"Graaaaah!"

The Cyclops lunged forward to retaliate, but its body was suddenly snared by thousands of ice tentacles. It twisted its head around to see a pale young man with long white hair. Thousands of tentacles were erupting from his back, crackling with frozen energy. The Cyclops let out a piercing howl. The mother and child watched in awe as these three stood against the titan. Suddenly, a masked girl with angel wings—one black and one white—landed softly beside them.

She quickly grabbed the mother and child, carrying them both into the air as if they weighed nothing at all. Seconds later:

"Blaaar!" "Tratatat... trat... trat!"

A blonde girl with a faceplate like a robot and a body encased in mecha-armor unleashed her entire arsenal. She rained down machine-gun fire, lasers, and rockets in a relentless barrage. The Cyclops screamed in agony. As the smoke cleared, a girl in a cat mask appeared out of nowhere on the giant's shoulder, plunging her sword directly into its eye.

"Gwaaaah!"

The Cyclops broke free from the tentacles and clutched its bleeding eye. It tried to swat its shoulder, but the girl had already teleported to the top of a nearby building. The young man in the black armor shot toward the monster again. Energy gathered around his hands, forming a long, glowing blade of greyish-white light.

"Shing!" He sliced downward, cleaving the Cyclops in half with perfect precision. The creature dissolved into a cloud of light and dust, drifting away into the wind.

"Tap." The six figures, all dressed in black, landed near the armored knight. They glanced at one another for a brief moment before scattering in different directions.

In a world where superheroes fight crime, supervillains plot for global domination, and monsters spill out of portals to cause chaos, life has become a plaything for the gods. These deities watch from above, treating the entire planet like their personal entertainment. But in the last two weeks, a new team has emerged—one that refuses to play by anyone's rules. This group doesn't fight for truth or justice, but they don't stand for tyranny or evil, either. They exist in the gray area, moving through the shadows, and nobody knows who they truly are.

Very few have ever seen them, let alone met them. Depending on who you ask, they are heroes, villains, or even monsters. In reality, they are just six young people from Earth. Each of them died once, reincarnated into a different world, and then returned to an Earth that exists in a chaotic, alternate dimension.

They are the ones who take down superheroes who abuse their power. They are the ones who crush supervillains willing to sacrifice the masses for their schemes. And they are the ones who slaughter the monsters sent by the gods for a "good show."

The Hero Association and the supervillain syndicates are all hunting them, desperate to either recruit them or kill them. Both sides are dying to get their hands on the six mysterious figures who—in their eyes—keep ruining everything.

"Tap."

The young man who had been wearing the black knight armor landed in a deserted park. He ducked into a restroom stall and locked the door. Reaching out, he opened a black portal in the air and pulled out his school bag. He began stripping off his gear to change into his uniform. After stowing the armor in his dimensional storage, he put on his glasses, stepped out of the stall, and looked at himself in the mirror.

He was handsome, with messy black hair and a lean, athletic build. With the glasses on, he looked like a typical antisocial introvert. He splashed some water on his face and headed back toward the school.

"Monsters today, superhero-villain brawls tomorrow. This is getting annoying," he thought.

He walked at a relaxed pace; the park was close to the school, and there was still plenty of time left in the lunch break. He pulled a roll out of his bag and started eating. At the gate, he ran into a beautiful girl with long silver hair tied in a ponytail. She wore glasses and the same uniform as him.

"Oh... where have you been, Erica?" the young man asked.

"Home. I forgot a book. What about you, Steve?" Erica asked back.

"Just picking up some food. Did you lock the house?" Steve asked.

"I did. Now go on—don't stand too close to me. I don't want anyone knowing we're stepsiblings, let alone classmates. Besides, I hate men. That includes you," Erica snapped.

"I know," Steve replied.

Erica walked in first. Steve waited a few moments before following. As he walked through the halls, a sexy blonde girl brushed past him, followed by the muscular guy with the buzz cut and a man-bun wearing a sports jersey. Steve glanced back, feeling eyes on him.

A beautiful girl with shoulder-length black hair and blue eyes was walking behind him, wearing glasses. Finally, bringing up the rear, was a long-haired blonde guy with his face covered by a mask and his hands shoved in his pockets.

Inside the classroom, Steve saw Erica already seated in the second row. The blonde girl sat next to her, and the muscular guy took a seat in the back, right next to Steve's own spot. Then the girl with the blue eyes walked in and sat in the third column, first row near the door. The guy in the mask headed straight for his seat at the front. None of them spoke to their classmates, and they didn't speak to each other.

Steve didn't see the point in talking unless he had to. He had no desire for friends and absolutely zero trust in other people. His heart had hardened during his time in the world of Arendel. He had no idea that the people he had just fought that monster with were the same people who had just walked into the room with him—including Erica, his stepsibling from his mother's second marriage.
