The air in the room felt colder after the last message appeared.
Sophia did not move, her eyes remained locked on the screen which now displayed the access point completely trapped.
Those words still echoed, not because of their length, but because of their meaning.
It did not sound like an ordinary threat. It sounded like something that had been prepared long before this moment.
Beside her, Adrian Blackwood stood with a posture stiffer than before.
"He does not bluff without reason," he said softly. Sophia nodded slightly. "People like him have no need for it."
Daniel continued scanning the system deeper, trying to find anything that might have been missed.
"I find no additional pathways within this structure," he said.
"If there is something, it lies outside the main system." Sophia crossed her arms.
"A backup not directly connected." Adrian added, "Or something that activates only if he fails."
Silence fell.
Not because they didn't know what to do.
