Chapter 115 - CHAPTER 115

That morning seemed normal.

Too normal.

Sophia sat in the family room with a cup of warm tea in her hands. Sunlight streamed gently through the large windows. Her belly was now clearly visible, the little life growing inside her a reminder that she was no longer fighting just for herself.

Adrian was getting ready for work when Sophia's phone buzzed.

An unknown number.

She almost ignored it.

But for some reason, she answered.

"Hello?"

No sound.

Only soft breathing.

Sophia furrowed her brow.

"Hello?"

Then the call cut off.

She stared at the screen for a few seconds before shaking her head slightly.

Probably a wrong number.

She tried to calm herself.

But five minutes later, a message came in.

Such a beautiful morning. Perfect for a walk. Be careful on the front steps.

Sophia's blood felt like it was flowing slower.

Front steps?

She stood slowly and walked toward the mansion's main door.

Right next to the right side of the marble steps—

A large flower pot that usually sat on the left had been moved slightly to the center, blocking a step.

Not something deadly.

But enough to make someone trip.

Sophia swallowed hard.

This wasn't a coincidence.

This was a message.

Adrian found Sophia standing still in front of the steps.

"What's wrong?"

He looked at the flower pot.

"Who moved this?"

The house staff swore they hadn't touched it.

Sophia showed him the message on her phone.

Adrian's expression changed.

Not panic.

Something more dangerous than that.

Cold.

"Go inside," he said softly.

"Adrian.."

"Now."

That tone was not up for negotiation.

Rafael was called.

Security teams were checked.

CCTV footage was replayed.

No intruders were seen.

No gates were left open.

No suspicious shadows.

But the pot had definitely shifted.

And the message was real.

"He wants us to know he can get in unseen," Rafael said quietly.

Adrian stood frozen in front of the monitor screen.

"No," he said slowly.

"He wants us to feel like we're never truly safe."

Sophia sat on the sofa, both hands cradling her belly.

Marcus had crossed that line.

That afternoon, the second message arrived.

Not to Sophia.

To Adrian.

Money can be replaced. Reputation can be repaired.

But some things… are fragile.

Adrian read the message with no expression.

But his knuckles were white as he gripped the phone.

Sophia stood behind him.

"He won't stop," she said softly.

Adrian turned to look at her.

"I won't let him get close."

Sophia looked deep into his eyes.

"He already has."

Silence fell like a heavy shadow.

Across the city, Marcus sat calmly in his office.

His assistant stood with a tablet in hand.

"The messages have been received."

Marcus nodded.

"Reactions?"

"Security has been tightened. No open panic."

Marcus smiled faintly.

"Adrian is always calm."

He stood and walked to the window.

"But calm doesn't mean there are no cracks."

That night, Adrian moved Sophia to a room on the farthest upper floor from outside access.

Guards were doubled.

Security systems were updated.

But no system could erase the feeling of being watched.

Sophia stood in front of the mirror.

She didn't want to look scared.

But her hand touching her belly was slightly trembling.

Adrian entered and stood behind her.

"This is my fault," he said softly.

Sophia shook her head quickly.

"Don't start that."

"I'm the one who chose to fight Marcus."

"We chose together."

Adrian wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"I won't let him use you."

Sophia looked at their reflection in the mirror.

"If he wants to break you, he won't attack directly."

Adrian knew she was right.

Marcus wasn't reckless.

He was strategic.

And this was only the first touch.

The next morning, a small news item appeared in the media.

An anonymous article questioning Sophia's health stability during her pregnancy.

No mention of threats.

No mention of danger.

Only subtle innuendo.

That stress and public pressure could have a bad effect.

The narrative was being shaped.

Gently.

But damagingly.

Sophia read the article with a tight jaw.

"He's building an opinion that if something happens to me… it's our own fault."

Adrian stared at the screen with sharp eyes.

"He's setting the stage."

Ethan called that night.

"I heard about the article."

"Yeah."

"Marcus is starting to move into personal territory."

Adrian didn't respond.

Ethan continued, "If he's attacking your family, it means he feels threatened."

"That doesn't make him any smaller," Adrian said coldly.

"No," Ethan agreed. "It makes him more dangerous."

A moment of silence.

"We need to speed things up," Ethan said.

"Evidence on the overseas shell companies is almost complete."

"Hurry," Adrian replied shortly.

Because this was no longer a game.

This was about protection.

That night, Sophia woke up to the sound of a notification.

She looked at the screen.

A photo.

Not an old photo.

Not from the media.

A photo of her that afternoon on the mansion balcony.

Taken from a distance.

From a high angle.

Her heart stopped for a moment.

Adrian woke up instantly and sat upright.

"What is it?"

Sophia showed him the screen.

Adrian's face changed completely.

It was no longer strategic calm.

It was controlled anger.

"I will destroy him," he said softly.

Sophia held his hand.

"If you act on emotion, he wins."

Adrian looked at the photo again.

"He's crossed the line."

Sophia nodded.

"And now we know."

"Know what?"

"He's scared."

Adrian was silent.

She was right.

Marcus wouldn't touch the family if he didn't feel his position was threatened.

In his dark room, Marcus received word that the photo had been sent.

"Reaction?" he asked.

"Security has been drastically tightened."

Marcus smiled faintly.

"Good."

His assistant hesitated for a moment.

"Is this going too far?"

Marcus looked at him.

"War was never about how far you go. Only about who backs down first."

He turned off his desk lamp.

"And Adrian doesn't look like a man who will back down."

At the mansion, the night felt quieter than usual.

Sophia stood on the balcony, though guards now stood closer by.

Adrian stood behind her.

"From now on, you won't be alone for a second," he said.

Sophia smiled faintly.

"I was never alone."

Adrian held her tighter.

But in his heart, a decision had been made.

Marcus had touched the line that should not be crossed.

And when war touches family.

It's no longer about strategy.

It's about the price that must be paid.

And Adrian was not a man who let threats hang for too long.

In the distance, the city still glittered as usual.

But behind the lights, the game had changed shape.

No longer about shares.

No longer about reputation.

But about who would break first.

When family became a pawn.

And if Marcus thought personal pressure would break them…

He may have just awakened something far more dangerous.
