"They're compressing tolerance," Adrian said as he reviewed the week's activity.

"Yes," I replied. "Escalation by fatigue."

Fatigue didn't announce itself.

It seeped.

Meetings ran a few minutes longer. Agendas carried one extra item. Follow-ups multiplied not because work expanded, but because certainty was being tested.

"They're probing for cracks," Adrian said.

"Yes," I replied. "Quiet escalation looks for stamina."

Stamina wasn't about hours.

It was about clarity.

I responded by tightening sequence.
