Chapter 7 - The Clash of Alphas

The Clash of Alphas 🐺⚡💥

Gu Hai didn't flinch. He adjusted his grip on the weapon, a cold, mocking smile twisting his scarred face.

Gu Hai: "Choosing him again, Wen? You always were a glutton for tragedy. Every time you choose him, you end up a ghost."

Before Gu Hai could pull the trigger, Si Jun moved with a speed that defied human physics. He didn't just run; he blurred. He slammed into Gu Hai, the force of the impact sending both Alphas crashing into the thick undergrowth.

The sound of the struggle was primal—snarls, the breaking of wood, and the heavy thud of bodies hitting the frozen earth.

2. Visions of the Past 👁️📜🕰️

Song Wen collapsed to his knees, but he wasn't just feeling the exhaustion of his heat cycle. As Si Jun fought, the "Bond" mark area on Song Wen's neck began to glow with a faint, ghostly light.

Images flashed through his mind like a broken film reel:

A scholar in a hanbok, weeping over a fallen warrior on a battlefield.

A young man in 1920s Seoul, reaching out for a hand in a burning building.

The sound of Si Jun's voice, younger but just as desperate, screaming his name through the centuries.

Song Wen: (Whispering to the empty air) "It's not just a diary... it's a map. He's been following me through time."

3. The Alpha's Sacrifice 🛡️🩹🌑

The fight ended abruptly. Si Jun stood over a retreating Gu Hai, his clothes torn and blood—dark and thick—dripping from a wound on his shoulder. Gu Hai's men were closing in, their flashlights cutting through the trees like searchlights.

Si Jun: (Breathing heavily, turning to Wen) "We have to go. Now. The 'Veil' is thinning."

He picked Song Wen up, but this time, the 'Rain and Forest' scent was laced with the metallic tang of blood. Despite the danger, Song Wen reached up, his fingers trembling as he touched the wound on Si Jun's shoulder.

Song Wen: "Why didn't you just tell me? Why keep me in the dark?"

Si Jun: "Because the truth is a burden, Wen. Remembering who you were makes you a target for those who want to use your soul's energy. I wanted you to just... live. Even if it was as my prisoner."

4. The Edge of the World 🛣️🏎️💨

They reached a black motorcycle hidden beneath a camouflage net at the edge of the forest trail. Si Jun climbed on, pulling Song Wen tightly against his back.

Si Jun: "Hold on. We're leaving the city. We're going to the ancestral lands—the only place where Gu Hai's influence can't reach."

As they roared down the deserted highway, the city lights of Seoul fading into a blur, Song Wen looked back. In the distance, he saw the silhouette of the man with the scar standing on the cliffside, watching them.

The anonymous message on Song Wen's phone buzzed one last time:

"He can't hide the moon from the sun forever. The fifth death is the final one."
