Evie felt her body heating up as she moved uncomfortably in Reign's arms. "Elara, can you hear me?" A voice sounded, but it was far; her whole body felt woozy. "Please open your eyes, Ela, can you hear me?" was the last thing she heard as darkness overtook her.
"She has passed out! Go fast and prepare a physician in Greykeep," the emperor said, turning to Conner, who was carrying the concerned Helga.
"Please be okay," the emperor whispered, holding Evie close, nudging Stormcrown to move fast. He was certain he hated her, but his actions over the past few days confused him as well. As much as he wanted to let her go, his heart and mind were not cooperating with each other.
Looking at her passed out in his arms, he didn't feel any hatred for her, as much as he wanted to; contrary to that, all he felt was heartache so sudden he almost couldn't breathe.
