Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 (Ayara Unit)

Everyone turned their gaze towards the two men approaching. They were dressed in attire resembling that of ancient palace nobles, the only difference being their black uniforms adorned with intricate Thai patterns, including an embroidered three-headed elephant.

These were the uniforms of the Ayra Unit, a government agency established to deal with players who cause trouble in the human world. And of course, these two men were players themselves.

Although the Ayra Unit was renowned for its strength, with only the brightest minds selected to join, two men seemed insufficient for this situation. After all, Singkhon was a key member of one of the three giant guilds.

One of the Ayra Unit members extended his hand into the air, and suddenly a spear appeared out of thin air. It was the summoning of an item stored in the player's dimensional inventory.

It was a long, white metal spear with a black, gem-like tip. The other Ayra Unit member summoned a rope dozens of meters long.

Nawa, watching from a safe vantage point, felt that the pressure emanating from the two Ayra Unit members was no less than that of Singkhon. It might even be more than that.

"This doesn't concern the Ayra unit. It's a player-versus-player (PK) battle. You have no right to interfere."

Singkhon stopped attacking and turned to speak to the two Ayra unit members who had just arrived. Their demeanor suggested considerable apprehension towards the two Ayra unit members.

"Don't play games, young man. Surrender peacefully, or else…" Before the Ayra unit could finish speaking, he swung a rope from his hand. It shot towards Singkhon as if alive.

"Whoosh!" Singkhon had an incredibly quick reaction.

Although he hadn't anticipated it, he swiftly dodged the rope that flew towards him like a snake. After retreating a distance, he leaped high into the air and hurled consecrated rice at the Ayra unit.

The consecrated rice, upon leaving Singkhon's hand, flew towards its target like shotgun pellets. But the Ayra unit was no less formidable than Singkhon. The rope in his hand coiled into a circle like an umbrella… The clash of the consecrated rice grains echoed loudly.

"Bang! Bang!"

After the impact, the coiled rope was only slightly deformed, but not a single grain of consecrated rice penetrated the defense. It scattered in all directions, injuring those nearby. Chaos ensued once again.

"If you dare interfere again, don't say I, Singkhon, didn't warn you!"

Singkhon shouted a threat, implying that if the Ayra unit interfered, he would act without regard for the lives of innocent people nearby. Although most people had fled, a considerable number still remained.

The threat seemed to have worked. The two Ayra unit members paused. Singkhon seized this opportunity, lunging at Thana again, summoning another short knife from thin air.

Now he was getting serious, knowing that with the Ayra unit appearing, time was running out. He assumed a fighting stance, holding the tips of both knives upside down and staring intently at Thana.

Thana remained motionless, not even assuming a fighting stance. He simply watched what was happening before a small smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Slash! Slash!"

The sound of knives slicing through the air echoed as Singkhon unleashed dozens of swords with superhuman speed.

Every blade seemed to be aiming, but none hit Thana, as usual. Despite the increased number and speed of his attacks, he still couldn't harm the guild president.

"Don't even try. A single low-ranked player can't force me to act," Thana said.

His gaze wasn't on Singkhon, but on the two Ayra unit members standing some distance away. The two Ayra unit members looked slightly startled, exchanging glances, but said nothing.

"What nonsense are you spouting? I don't believe Singkhon can't force you to act!"

Singkhon shouted, as if trying to cover something up. He turned to look at a young woman lying prone on the ground several tens of meters away, a wicked smile spreading across his face.

Without further ado... Singkhon immediately lunged at her with a short knife before charging towards the Future Guild president.

Singkhon's intentions were clear: if Thana wanted to help that woman, he had to deal with him first. Thana's expression turned serious, but before he could act, he noticed something unexpected that disrupted his timing.

Suddenly, Nawa ran out from his hiding place and blocked the incoming knife.

"Bang!"

A loud sound echoed as the knife struck Nawa in the chest. Nawa was thrown by the force of the blow, spitting out blood. However, the knife didn't pierce his chest.

Upon closer inspection, the unconscious woman was the one who had guided Nawa earlier. Logically, Nawa wasn't close enough to this woman to be willing to die for her, and he thought the same thing, but his body reacted differently.

Fortunately, Nawa wasn't completely unconscious. He had gambled on the defensive power of his Dragon Scale Armor.

The outfit he acquired in the Himmapan forest possessed enough defensive power from the dragon scale armor to prevent a knife from piercing his body, but the impact force was enough to crush Nava's internal organs. Even if he survived, he would be severely injured.

Just before Nava's body hit the wall, a palm struck him forcefully in the back with incredible precision and direction.

It stopped Nava from slamming into the wall and almost completely neutralized the destructive force of the short knife. Furthermore, Nava felt his body receive some kind of energy that helped heal his injuries.

Nava immediately turned around. He found that the person who had saved him was none other than Thana, the president of The Future Guild, who had refused to intervene from the beginning, but this time he had demonstrated his skill to save Nava's life.

Thanat patted Nawa's shoulder lightly and said,

"Do you realize how incredibly foolish your actions have been? Even the slightest mistake could mean you fail to save that woman, and you yourself could die."

Nawa didn't know if Thanat's words were genuinely kind or had a hidden meaning. It seemed he had just discovered a part of the Future Guild president's power that many sought: healing.

Even knowing this, Nawa still couldn't believe it. The movements Thanat displayed were those of a skilled offensive player, while healing was a skill unique to the Healer class.

Nawa's mind was filled with unanswered questions, but he had to put them aside for now. He caught sight of Singkhon charging towards him, aiming to kill, from Thanat's blind spot.

"Watch out!"

Nawa shouted at the top of his lungs, but it was too late. Singkhon had already closed in on Thanat. At this distance, even he, before losing his power, would find it difficult to dodge this attack.

But before the dagger reached Thanat… Suddenly, Singkhon's body froze, as if some force had stopped him.

"W-what is this?" Singkhon exclaimed, his face contorted with surprise at what was happening to him.

But before he could answer, a rope resembling a snake shot out and bound Singkhon's entire body, turning him into a mummy. He was unable to move a finger or speak.

"You're so arrogant to cause trouble at The One Association! You didn't even acknowledge our Aiyara unit's authority. No matter who's backing you, they won't be able to help you. Prepare for a long prison sentence!"

The Aiyara unit member who had bound Singkhon snarled angrily, then lightly tugged at the rope, causing Singkhon's body to float above the ground like a hot air balloon.

"I apologize for causing you both trouble," Thana said, narrowing his eyes as he looked at the Aiyara unit.

"Don't say that. We're the ones who should apologize for letting this happen."

"We hope the Chairman will forgive us both," the Ayra unit member holding the rope said politely.

"Chairman, do you happen to know who is behind this? Doing this is tantamount to disrespecting the Ayra unit. Whoever it is, I, Nai In, will bring them to justice," another Ayra unit member, holding a spear, said with a particularly fierce and stern expression.

Thana turned to look, a slight smile playing on his lips, before speaking:

"It's alright. It's just a small matter. I'd appreciate it if you could take care of the injured here, especially my brave younger brother."

Thana said, glancing at Nava and bowing slightly in gratitude before leaving the scene.

Soon after, officers arrived to clear the area and take the injured for treatment. Everyone was surprised that Nava's injuries weren't as serious as expected; he only had minor bruises.

Nava couldn't gauge the power of the Chairman of the Future Guild; even a high-ranking healer would struggle to heal internal injuries so quickly.

But this man accomplished it in an instant. Nava guessed that this man was certainly no less skilled than himself when they were in the Himmapan forest.

"You're useless. You can't even bring him to show his skill," said the Ayra unit member holding the rope as they walked away from the crowd.

Normally, no one would hear this conversation, but Nava could because he had released White Snake to secretly follow this group.

When he concentrated, Nava could perceive everything White Snake perceived, both sights and sounds. From what he could understand, these two Ayra unit members were allied with Singkhon and had helped Singkhon in his attack.

However, because Nava didn't want to risk letting White Snake get too far from him, he stopped tracking the Ayra unit when they entered the elevator.

Therefore, Nava didn't know if it was a personal act by these two or if the Ayra unit was involved. If it was the latter, this conflict wouldn't just be between guilds, but would become a matter concerning the entire country, because the Ayra unit is considered a government agency.

Nawara had a premonition that this incident was the beginning of something incredibly significant, something that could determine the fate of the entire nation.
