Chapter 145 - Chapter 141: Preparing to Go to The Wall

She hesitated for a moment, then spoke again, "There are some blurry images in the flames regarding dragons, but I cannot see them clearly... However, your decision is certainly very crucial."

Viserys approached her and said, "You can continue to watch the changes in the flames. If there are any new prophecies, you can tell me at any time."

He paused, his tone softening slightly, "But you must also pay attention to rest, High Priestess." As he spoke, his hand stroked Kinvara's eye circles.

Kinvara felt his movement and was slightly startled. She lowered her eyes, gave a soft "mm," and then said no more. After bowing, she quickly fled the study.

On the third night after Viserys and Kinvara discussed the prophecy, the council chamber of Dragonstone was brightly lit with candlelight.

Viserys sat at the head of the long table, on which lay a huge map of Westeros. Duke William, Count Jon, and Count Elisha—the three high officials currently on the Valyrian Peninsula—sat on one side, while Ashara, Rhaenys, and Daenerys sat on the other.

Viserys got straight to the point, his finger pointing to the location of The Wall on the map. "I have decided to go to The Wall."

"Your Majesty?" Duke William's brow furrowed. "Westeros is currently in the midst of war. Isn't it a bit risky to go to The Wall at this time?"

"Precisely because they are in a chaotic struggle, it is the best time for me to go," Viserys said calmly. "Their attention is focused on each other; no one will expect me to appear at The Wall. Besides, I am going with Ghidorah. Even if they discover me, they can do nothing about it."

Duke William took up the conversation, "Your Majesty, what is your purpose for going this time?"

Viserys held up a finger. "First, I want to retrieve the Targaryen ancestral valyrian steel sword 'dark sister.' According to family records, it was last taken to The Wall by Lord Bloodraven, so it is likely still there."

In truth, he wanted to get it from the Greenseer. After all, now that the plot had been slightly altered by him, it was better to go a bit earlier to ensure he could get the sword.

"Second, I want to see Maester Aemon Targaryen. He is my great-great-uncle and the oldest living member of the Targaryen family. He is also a wise elder; I need his wisdom, and perhaps he can offer me some other insights."

After all, based on his performance in the original work, he seemed to possess the Targaryen family's dreamwalker ability.

"Third. I want to give the Night's Watch a warning. Winter is Coming is not a legend; they need to be prepared."

If the Night's Watch could see the dragons, it would at least be easier for them to believe in the White Walkers than in the original work. Then the wildlings north of The Wall might be allowed to enter the south, and he could then use The Wall as a defensive line to confront the White Walkers.

As for why he didn't just rush in to deal with the Night King, it was mainly because the Night King already seemed very powerful, so the Great Other behind him must be at least comparable to the current Ghidorah. There was no need to take such a risk.

A brief silence fell over the study.

Count Jon coughed, his voice carrying concern; after his last injury, he looked even older. Now, the only things he cared about were protecting the Targaryen members and reclaiming the iron throne.

"Your Majesty, although Ghidorah is strong, it is still dangerous for you to be alone. You should at least take an elite guard with you."

"No need." Viserys shook his head in refusal. "Ghidorah's speed is something no army can keep up with. Therefore, the fewer people, the faster the movement, and the safer it is. What you need to do is continue to consolidate the empire's defenses, speed up naval construction, and closely monitor the changes in the war situation in Westeros."

He took two sealed letters from his sleeve. "Ser Elissar, deliver these two letters to Arthur and Clinton by raven later. Tell them to closely monitor the movements around the empire. If any city-states or forces attempt to act against us, they don't need to ask for instructions and can act directly."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Alliser took the letters.

"Duke William, the navy must continue to expand. I want to see a fleet capable of transporting fifty thousand troops across the Narrow Sea by next year."

"As you command."

"Count Jon, I leave the defense of Valyria itself to you. Although those Young Dragons are slightly inferior to Ghidorah and Black Flame, they are already a force that cannot be ignored."

The old knight replied with a firm voice, "As long as I have a breath left, there will be no problem with Valyria, Your Majesty."

"I depart tomorrow. Now, each of you go back and rest."

The several people left one after another, leaving only Ashara, Rhaenys, and Daenerys.

Ashara stood up, her pale violet eyes filled with worry, but she still walked to Viserys's side and took his hand. "I support your decision, but please be careful. We all need you."

"I will." Viserys lightly stroked her cheek and turned to look at Rhaenys. "During my absence, Rhaenys, you will preside over the political affairs of Dragonstone, and Ashara will assist you. Also, although your Melyas is already strong enough, remember that without my permission, you cannot fly out on your dragon privately. Your task is to protect them, do you understand?"

Rhaenys bit her lip, clearly wanting to say something, but finally nodded. "I understand, brother. But promise me, you must return safely."

"I promise you." Viserys smiled and looked at Daenerys. "Dany, watch your three little dragons. They are growing fast, but they still need time before they can be ridden."

Daenerys nodded vigorously. "I will. Vormax and the others are very obedient now."

At this point, Rhaenys couldn't help herself and stepped forward. "Brother, actually, I want to go with you. Melyas can already fly very far; I can accompany you to The Wall."

"Rhaenys," Viserys interrupted her, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Do you remember what I taught you? With power comes responsibility. Now, your responsibility is to protect the family while I am away."

Rhaenys took a deep breath and wiped away the tears welling in the corners of her eyes. "Alright, I will stay and protect Dany and Sister Ashara."

Viserys laughed. "Alright, now let's go rest as well. Since you are seeing me off tomorrow, we will all sleep together tonight."

Rhaenys and Ashara blushed slightly, but Daenerys jumped up happily and shouted, "Yay!"

After all, since she had begun to grow up, Viserys had reduced the number of times he slept with her. Although everyone was sleeping together this time, she didn't care; as long as her brother could accompany her, it was good.
