Chapter 45 - Chapter 40: Valyria VIII

"The war between the Maiden of Light and the Night Lion, and their respective 'successful' cases of breaking boundaries, stimulated other top magic users in the world at that time." Ghidorah's narration continued. "The Temple of the Undying, the Shadow Lands, and other groups were places where they spread their beliefs, searching for their own path to 'godhood.' But no one succeeded."

Time continued to flow. Approximately five thousand years ago, a group of audacious shepherds with some magical talent discovered a certain kind of "active" magical energy on this peninsula. They settled here, studied it, and continuously came into contact with forbidden magic from organizations like the Shadow Lands and the Temple of the Undying.

"They were creative, but also greedy," Ghidorah commented. "They utilized the active energy here, combined with that forbidden knowledge, to conduct bloody magical experiments. They forcibly fused native magical creatures like Fire Lizards and Bloodworms with the energy I had dissipated, using vast amounts of life as sacrifices. Ultimately, they 'created' Great Dragons, powerful, controllable magical war creatures that could greatly enhance their strength."

Relying on the Great Dragons, these shepherds quickly rose and established the Valyrian Freehold, becoming the overlords of this area.

"Their success was built upon the disregard for the energy rules and the value of life in this world. Especially, their connection with organizations like the Temple of the Undying deepened. Those organizations attempted to influence Valyria to conduct larger-scale magical experiments that could potentially shake the world's foundation, all to achieve their goal of 'godhood'."

This behavior finally attracted the attention of that certain existence.

"rhllor, or rather, the Maiden of Light, had always been paying attention to the changes in this world. The Valyrians' recklessness, and the organizations behind them attempting to reach 'godhood,' touched upon her bottom line and interests. But restricted by the rules, she could not directly destroy Valyria."

Thus, a plan, or rather, an "inducement" and "provocation," began.

"Through certain channels, she allowed the few top Dragonlords of Valyria at the time to learn information suggesting that the 'ultimate Great Dragon secret' or 'power of the gods' might be hidden 'deep' within this peninsula." Ghidorah's consciousness was full of sarcasm. "Greed drove them. They gathered the dozen or so most powerful Dragonlords, rode their Great Dragons, and intruded here, attempting to find the 'ultimate power' they imagined."

"They disturbed my slumber." Ghidorah's three heads rose simultaneously. Even during the mental exchange, the sudden burst of anger caused Viserys's consciousness to fluctuate violently. "Although I was sleeping to heal, I was not unconscious. A group of ants, bringing a few crude imitations, dared to covet my existence."

The result was the scene Viserys had witnessed in his dream. Fourteen Flames shook, Ghidorah was completely enraged, and woke from her slumber. She faced the dozen or so Valyrian Dragonlords and their Great Dragons alone. The battle was earth-shattering, but the outcome was certain. Dragonlords fell, and Great Dragons wailed. However, Ghidorah's power control became erratic due to the stimulation of her fury and the fight.

"My injuries are more stubborn than I imagined, and my energy is not fully compatible with this world's." Ghidorah's consciousness revealed a rare sense of solemnity and helplessness. "That forced awakening and combat caused my injuries to collapse. My own primordial power began leaking uncontrollably. This high-dimensional energy from my homeland is a 'heterogeneity' with 'polluting' properties for the material and magical environment of your world."

"This is the other half of the truth behind the 'Doom.' My leaking power caused a chain reaction with the previously active local magic. It twisted the magnetic field here, contaminated the land and sea, and also fostered various mutated creatures, forming those strange spatial fields that impede life and interfere with the mind. The Smoking Sea you saw on your journey and those chaotic magical effects were all generated this way."

"And that Black Dragon circling on the rock ledge—it was an accidental product. I used the magic I had absorbed previously to hatch the dragon eggs here. It carries a trace of my aura, allowing it to survive here and instinctively obey my will."

The long narration was drawing to a close. Ghidorah's six golden dragon eyes focused on Viserys again, carrying a hint of resolve.

"My time is running out. The collapse of my injuries cannot be reversed. In this world, where magic is currently at a low ebb, I cannot obtain enough energy to repair myself. If this continues, I will eventually perish completely in this slumber."

"Therefore, I choose 'Nirvana'."

"Nirvana?" Viserys seized upon this crucial piece of information.

"This is one of the inherited talents of my race. When facing certain doom, we condense and compress the core life imprint, memories, and pure origin into a 'Primordial Egg.' I will be reborn. Starting from the most primitive state, I will adapt to this world and grow again. This will completely resolve the conflict between me and the rules of this world, and also eradicate the source of the pollution."

"This is also why I lured you here, Viserys Targaryen, or rather, the descendant of a Dragonlord fused with an otherworldly soul." Ghidorah's consciousness directly exposed his essence. "Humans, among the countless civilizations in the cosmos, may be mediocre in individual strength, but your potential and creativity are incredible. The uniqueness of your soul, coupled with the Dragonlord bloodline in you, your desire for power, and the will you displayed in coming here, showed me possibilities. This is why I chose you."

"What do you need me to do?" Viserys asked directly.

"Hatch the 'Primordial Egg' here. There is still a considerable amount of residual magic here, and with my approval, you can absorb the magic here and catalyze my rebirth. Moreover, it is best to succeed in hatching before the two 'Gods' outside become aware of it."

"What is my reward for doing this?"

The consciousness of Ghidorah's three heads transmitted simultaneously, carrying a solemn oath: "After I regain my strength, until the end of your life, I shall become your mount, just like the Great Dragon partners of this world. My power shall be used by you to help you reclaim your throne and fulfill your ambitions. And that Black Dragon, during my Nirvana and my growth period, can temporarily serve as your mount. It is already partially grown and possesses considerable strength."

"Alright, I promise you."

After waking the soldiers, Viserys instructed Ser Arthur to lead them to follow the Black Dragon back to the Satherean family's castle. They were to first rendezvous with the personnel left behind there, and then explore the Ruins of Valyria together to collect any treasures they could find. Under the guidance of the Great Dragon, safety was no longer an issue.

As for Viserys, he stayed here to absorb the magical energy and catalyze the "Primordial Egg" that Ghidorah had become. However, this process was simpler than Viserys had imagined—something Ghidorah probably hadn't anticipated either.

Just one week later, the egg made a cracking sound. Then, a figure shining with dark golden luster struggled out of the broken shell. It landed in front of Viserys, looking at him with a slightly stunned expression. However, the newborn creature was only about the size of an adult tiger.

Its entire body was covered in fine, neat scales, its physique was smooth and strong, its claws were sharp as hooks, and two tails constantly swung behind it. A pair of fleshy wings, still appearing immature relative to its body, were folded at its sides; they were thin as a cicada's wing, yet faintly pulsed with energy patterns.

And the most striking feature was undoubtedly its three heads.

The central dragon head was the largest and appeared steady, emitting a metallic screech from its throat. A faint golden light, capable of distorting vision, flickered deep within its throat.

The head on the right swung energetically, its snort carrying a cluster of scorching sparks, leaving burn marks on the ground, demonstrating the authority of fire.

The head on the left was the quietest; it merely watched its surroundings calmly, yet the air slowly cooled due to its breath, and a faint blue cold light shimmered inside its mouth.
