Twice now, Cassius had this feeling that someone was spying on him yet he had found no traces of who was secretly observing him but then during his battle with the tier two alpha wolf, two men had been watching the fight from behind the trees at first, he wasn't worried both men were at the third stage of the source rank and they were of no threat to him.
But as soon as Cassius ended the fight for a split second he sensed it a familiar aura, one or both men carried the same signature as who had spied on him, noticing that they were about to flee he moved faster than their eyes could follow Cassius appeared right in front of them and immediately he stared at them, he knew he was right so with a wave of his hand he activated a technique that he felt was appropriate {binding vines} , which caused countless vines to rise from the ground and wrapped itself tightly around them, restricting their movements greatly.
Cassius wasn't taking any chances, so he asked why they were here and their answer was less than satisfactory he looked at them for a few seconds before he waved his hand and conjured a large chair from the earth before sitting on it.
"You must take me for a fool Cassius spoke his expression unreadable as he continued if you expect me to believe that you journeyed into dangerous territory for a 1% chance of you getting a treasure and leaving safely with your lives."
"What are your names" Cassius asked hoping to discern lies from truth because as Cassius realized due to his powerful bloodlines and physique deceiving him was something that was becoming impossible.
"Gill" a short man of about 5'6 with black hair and for some reason kept struggling against the vines
"Rick" standing tall 5'9 with a large build and also the most cooperative of the two
"So, tell me this Gill why two men at the third stage of the source realm would risk their lives for a treasure that might not exist?" Cassius asked as he suddenly vanished from his chair and appeared right in front of Gill
'I didn't even see him move' Gill thought to himself but aloud he said, "look we already told you, why won't you let us go?" and then his struggle against the vines increasing with such intensity.
"You are lying to me, why are you lying to me" Cassius said before he suddenly placed his palm on Gill's head thinking to himself "you forced me to do this".

Ever since meeting both Gill and Rick Cassius had felt something wrong with Gill now, he was trying something he has never tried before

As gill lost consciousness, Cassius began to sift through his memories, treating every memory like a thread he started from the last memory Gill had, which was Cassius placing his hands on gills head and then began tracing gills memories backward, Cassius was mostly focused on the memory of his battle with the alpha wolf because it was during that period that he had felt that strange aura.
Cassius was beginning to think he had made a mistake when he froze the memory he had finally found it: The alpha wolf had just made its aura known and both Gill and rick had been seized by terror but a few seconds later Cassius had unleashed his own aura to counteract that of the tier two silver horned alpha wolf, it was then Cassius saw it, it appeared for one brief instant that even rick his own companion had missed it but in that instant Gills eyes had turned pitch black as he felt Cassius unleashed aura.
Looking at the image of Gills black eyes, Cassius sensed the presence of something else, something sinister and pure evil looking through Gill's eyes, so Cassius familiarized himself with that presence and began to search through Gills memories for when he came in contact with such entity.
Cassius searched until he came across a memory of a strange looking man offering his hand to Gill who was on his knees crying in torment over a burning house
Just what are you Cassius asked out loud and that's when the strangest thing happened the man who was clearly facing Gill in the memory turned around and was gazing right at Cassius.
"Found you" the man mouthed and then he burst apart into dark mist and surged toward Cassius who realizing the danger quickly cancelled the technique and disengaged himself from Gill's mind, but it was too late.
Cassius moved with incredible speed distancing himself from Gill's unconscious body his danger sense flaring like crazy
"Hey, what did you do? what's going on?" Rick asked confused about what was happening hey Gill wake up man
suddenly Gill raised his head and he was almost unrecognizable, his eyes turned pitch black, wearing a wide grin and then gradually he began to lift himself off the ground, his body began expanding until he was about two meters tall, two black horns grew on his head radiating an aura of darkness that consumed any form of light in his vicinity.
"Just what are you?" Rick whispered in shock not recognizing the monster his best friend had transformed into.
