And these are my two sons,he says as two guys enter the palace hall. Adrian and Williams",he pushes on. Ayleen stares at the brothers, trying to make a read on them. The eldest Adrian looks at her,their eyes meet. They stare at each other intently.
Suddenly , Adrian darken his gaze, almost as if uninterested. With his bright golden eyes, curly long silver hair tied in a bun, with a few strands dangling,in his princely get-up.
"Huh!,who does he think he is ", Ayleen scoffs at him. Wondering what she ever did to him, since this was their first encounter.
Williams waves at her with a bright smile, nudging Adrian by the arm."Don't mind him,he just got off the wrong bed",he tells her pushing a few strands of his hair back. Then, winks at her with his light blue eyes."My!,miss Ayleen Stone,I have heard quiet a few rumors of your wonderful work . Per say,in some of the neighboring kingdoms I work with. Some even say, your roots may be from Carlisle.Are they true?".
"Why yes!, your highness, indeed I am a born Carlisian. But unfortunately by parents moved a long time ago. So you could say, I'm back to my homeland, Ayleen replied the prince." Alright that would be all I have for you miss Stone. Unfortunately,I have some urgent business to attend to, I'll see you later. "But father,this isn't necessary,we have more than enough guards to protect me and the kingdom in double!", Adrian interjected."And besides,I think it's too much responsibility on our new vice-commander", Adrian said staring at her with a cold gaze.
"Don't be naive son, you and I both know your life is at risk in the hands of those blood suckers. You even got attacked a few days ago.I can't take this lightly anymore. And Ayleen is one of the best soldiers we have. She is even skilled in killing those blasted creatures",the king elaborates." But father!"."hush!! my decision is final,the king said abruptly cutting Adrian off. Adrian bids his father goodbye and storms out. Ayleen stands quietly observing the spectacle.
"Ayleen, I hope you understand,and don't worry about him. He'll come around,he knows I'm doing this for his own good, king Edward said lightly.
"Rest assured your majestic, your will is my duty.l will make sure the prince is protected till l draw my last breath, Ayleen bowed to the king."Good,just what I expected from my vice-commander",the king praised." Alright your highness,if there is nothing you seek of me. I shall take my leave now", Ayleen said ready to leave." My dear, before you go, I would like to say welcome to Carlisle,or should I say welcome back Commander Ayleen", said the king gingerly as Ayleen turned to leave with a smile on her face. Proud to have taken a step in fulfilling her promise." The truth shall be found,pops. Just wait and watch,I will fulfill my promise soon",she thinks as she walks. The fulfillment of a promise.
