MONDAY AFTERNOON
Eve stood outside Damian's study, her hand hovering over the door handle.
She'd checked her bracelet three times in the last ten minutes. Yellow. Definitely yellow. She needed to feed....her hunger had been building for the past hour, that familiar pull in her core demanding satisfaction.
But she knew the brothers were in an important meeting. A video conference with alphas from three neighboring packs, discussing territorial boundaries and resource sharing agreements. Damian had mentioned it this morning....said it could take hours, that it was critical pack business that couldn't be postponed.
Eve had planned to wait. To deal with the hunger until they were done.
But her body had other ideas. The yellow on her bracelet was darkening toward orange, her skin beginning to shimmer faintly with that telltale glow. If she waited much longer, she'd be in actual danger.
